“conservatives are invested in the economic recession because it accelerates their reduced-government agenda.”
It’s not like the government is taking control of huge segments of the economy which will ultimately be run by bureaucrats(???) Who are they kidding? By the time the bailouts have been paid out and failed, the government will monopolize mortgages, credit, finance and most likely the automotive industry.

Doesn’t matter what kind of public health insurance they hand out if you do not have physicians and dentists who will take MediCal (Medicaid.) That is the problem we have hear. Lots of poor, no providers.

I just checked
the State of Washington's Health Fund web site and found that a family of four that makes over $42,000 in Snohomish county can get **FREE** “Basic Health Plus” insurance through the state for their poor little children (under age 18) as well as subsidized insurance on adults to the tune of $105.79 per month.
Yep. Subsidized insurance. It's only for the poor, and nobody wants to get rid of insurance for the poor.
Oh, and what's the "average household income" these days?
