Obama's End Run around Congress
American Thinker ^ | December 09, 2008 | Ned Barnett

Candidate Barack Obama promised "change we can believe in," but he never hinted that this change would all but circumvent Congress to impose on America the most dramatic liberal social transformation since the New Deal. While promising to lead, he did not suggest that he would create a kind of "imperial presidency" that would horrify the Founding Fathers. Based on their own direct experience with a sovereign, they were rightly concerned with any one man having too much power. This is the kind of power that Obama is now reaching for, following the same kind of "stealth strategy" that helped get him elected.

How much will the uniforms and arms cost for the new Civilian National Security Force? Will they have tanks, jeeps, artillery, aircraft and etc.?

Ever since the fellow’s election I figured why would he go small ball? The media will always be a lapdog to this man, so swing for the fences and implement or grease the wheels for as much socialism as possible as fast as possible.

Those of us standing against this man’s policies need a champion.

Well, he said that he was going to create a civilian force that was just as strong as our military force, yadayadaya. I do not think he will do anything close to this. This was “get me elected talk” and I will make you safe talk.

I remember the fates of other dictators in history. Think of Hitler. Think of Mussolini. Think of Saddam Hussein.

Aircraft and artillery? Doubtful... but I'll bet they'll have bulletproof vests.

*** How much will the uniforms and arms cost for the new Civilian National Security Force? Will they have tanks, jeeps, artillery, aircraft and etc.?

No, no artillery or aircraft. But likely Hummers in lieu of jeeps. And the uniform cost will be minimal, they'll be made in China, or North Korea.

And I have a *hunch* as to where Barry got his idea for a "Civilian National Security Force".

Barry's neighbors include not only commie Bill Ayers but Calypso Louie Farrakhan. His Nation of Islam goons PATROL THE NEIGHBORHOOD 24/7 to 'stop crime' (this little tidbit was a blurb in one of Ayers' books).

So forget the Chicago PD, this is prolly why Kenwood and Hyde Park have an oddly low crime rate considering what they are surrounded by. Under normal situations Kenwood and Hyde Park would be Target Rich environments for the gangs.

So I really think this where Barry got the idea, from Calypso Louie. How special is that.

Well, he said that he was going to create a civilian force that was just as strong as our military force

Bcause the Civilian force would not be controlled by the Posse Comitatus Act.

The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement.

The Insurrection Act governs when the President can declare a form of martial law. When the act is invoked, the military, including the National Guard, can carry out law enforcement functions without the consent of a Governor. Posse comitatus, a broad law that generally prevents the military from policing within the domestic United States, does not apply when the act is invoked.

Until the “Insurrection Act Rider” was enacted in the fall of 2006, U.S. law focused on enabling the President to invoke the Insurrection Act during violent situations where the states or local communities were resisting lawful orders. The intent of the law, as the title suggests, was to deal with insurrection from individuals or groups. The law was not designed to address other situations, including natural disasters, or attacks from outside the country.

“By lumping all of his major new-initiative programs into an omnibus stimulus/jobs bill which has virtually no chance of not passing, these sweeping new programs will immediately become part of the American system of governance. These dramatic new far-left legislative initiatives won’t need further hearings — ensuring that there will never be any chance for Americans to speak out, for or against these changes.”

Can someone explain to me why the republicans have no chance of stopping this thing? Can’t we filibuster and refuse to sign it?
