Early Show’s Rodriguez To Coulter: Don’t Republicans Have To Move To Middle?
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

The Early Show exiled Ann Coulter to its second half-hour today in favor of a peanut-butter update. And once there, Ann was tripled-team by the Early Show anchors. But that didn’t stop her from making the point that, now more than ever, Republicans need to stick by their principles.

Coulter did so in the face of the suggestion from Maggie Rodriguez that what Republicans should really be doing is, of course, moving to the middle.

MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ: Don’t you think that right now, it is, it behooves the Republicans to be a little bit more in the middle. Their voices aren’t going to be heard anyway, as we saw with the stimulus plan. Even if they want something, if the Democrats want something else, that’s what’s going to happen. So doesn’t it behoove them to be more bi-partisan and meet in the middle?

Coulter rightly wasn’t buying . . .

Coulter takes on Early Show triple-team ping to Today show list.

Don’t miss Ann’s killer line on McCain . . .

Yes, they do need to move to the middle, because they’re too far to the f***ing LEFT.

Do you know if these authors of all the attached pork in the stimulus bill that passed the House are identified?

What they’re really afraid of is the republicans finding their backbones and forcefully sticking to core Conservative values.

What we are lacking at this point is another great communicator like Ronald Reagan. If we can just get someone in there to lead the party who has charisma and likeability, the dems will get their clocks cleaned in 2010 and 2012, and they know it.

‘Their voices aren’t going to be heard anyway, as we saw with the stimulus plan.’

ROTFL! No ‘bias’ here, eh?

I HEARD the Republicans CLEARLY. And their vote on this faux stimulus bs gave me some hope for 2010, and beyond.

I am curious as to how long it took Anne to rip this idiot's tongue out of his head!

Apparently, and typically of the braindead MM, this idiot did not realize his question to our Anne was analogous to offering a bloody stump to a rabid pit bull....or to Michael Vick...whichever!

Maggie, why don’t Democrats move to the middle, i.e. to the right?

The media is really trying to get the Republicans to go along with Obammy because they want to make Obammy out as the ‘great unifier’. If the Republicans had any smarts at all, they would oppose everything....

The problem is that Republicans have moved TOO FAR to the middle and need to MOVE BACK to their conservative base. If McCain had been able to move the base like Bush did in 2000 and 2004, then it would have been a much tighter race.

If I've said it once, I've said it a millions times...

Whenever a liberal becomes president, the country moves farther and farther left, which moves 'the middle' farther left. For every two steps liberalism takes, conservatism takes a step back- mainly because fools like Rodriquez believe a shift is needed.

My reply would have been siimple: by your reasoning, shouldn't liberals have moved toward the middle when Bush was president? Where were your calls for that to happen?
