Surely this isn't what Obama meant when he vowed change

By Steven Thomma | McClatchy Newspapers WASHINGTON — These first days aren't going the way that President Barack Obama hoped when he promised to change the way Washington operates.

He remains popular, with broad support from the American people, but the taint of politics as usual is challenging the aura of something new.

Three of his top nominees have been caught with tax problems, two them departing abruptly Tuesday.

Two more were former lobbyists named to high positions despite Obama's ban on lobbyists in his administration.

Yet another, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, had to withdraw weeks earlier because of an investigation into alleged "pay-to-play" politics at home.

"This tax issue was starting to reach critical mass," pollster John Zogby said. "One is a mistake. Two is a problem.

When you start getting a third, it possibly becomes a question of judgment. How do you ask Americans to sacrifice while Cabinet members don't sacrifice until they get caught?"

That's enough to stop right there. Just another slobber fest.

I hate these generalizations. Why don't they ask me what I think of him? I think he's a douche bag. Does that make him "popular, with broad support from the American people"? Why don't they generalize on the basis of that comment?

Zero is a product and victim of his own arrogance of inexperience. He’s never done anything so he’s never failed and it made him cocky. Now he can only succede or fail and his mouth wrote a lot of checks his ass can’t cash.

No doubt about it, this IS change. I guess this is what happens when the leader of our country lacks any sort of moral compass.

Simply said ...He stands for nothing.

The Bee newspapers have been just fine getting Zero past the finish line. NOW they’ve got problems? Should have thought about that a long time ago before they got on the bandwagon.

Why don't they generalize on the basis of that comment?

Because nobody in the media has ever heard anybody make such a remark.

All their friends, everybody they know, believes as they do: that Obama is the cat's pajamas and everybody loves him.

A poll of any newsroom would prove it...

Sooner or later, the media slobberfest is going to bring about a backlash from the public. The longer the press takes to figure that out, the worse it will be for them. The thing to worry about is opposition Republicans being ignored or even silenced.

He’s probably already had a paycheck from the people.....when in corporate America he would have been released during his probationary period with this kind of 2-week performance.

Too much being PRESENT and not enough being INVOLVED

The man is incapable of making any decisions. He just makes pronouncements without a thought to the consequences.

Then he has to back track. For now the msm continues it’s love affair but the long suffering voters are not amused with his insisting that being a tax cheat is no problem.

Chicago style governing is disgusting to say the least.

"How do you ask Americans to sacrifice while Cabinet members don't sacrifice until they get caught?"

Sacrifice? This isn't about giving up something extra for the good of the country. It's about OBEYING THE LAWS THAT WE ARE ALL SUBJECT TO.

Well, it was enough for me to look up to see where it came from. McClatchy. Then I had to see how the author justified the his slobber.
