President Barack Obama is planning two getaways to Illinois next week -- with a scheduled stop in Chicago with the rest of the First Family.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Obama family will return to Chicago for the President's Day weekend.

Obama already was planning a one-day trip next week to Springfield to attend a banquet for Abraham Lincoln's birthday.

I wonder if the press will be on his case for all the time he takes off in the next four years. Air Force One is going to be putting some serious miles on. It is obvious he has a thin skin and doesn't like to be questioned by the DC press corp so he will probably be gone more than Bush. Someone should start a website comparing his time out of DC to Bush's.

Yup. He's going to spend as much time as possible on AF-1 (at probably $250K/hr, all in) like Clinton did, thinking up bigger and better ways to jet around with his entourage of 300 or 400 close friends.

Don't forget, wherever presbo goes on AF-1, another military cargo jet goes with the Presidential Limo, and, I believe, a third aircraft goes with other assorted Presidential assistants and accessories.
