Correct. He is a figurehead, a mouthpiece. Bush alluded to this in one of his final remarks as president. He was talking about the feeling Obama was going to have when he walks into the Oval Office and realizes this is all on his shoulders. He must have picked up on this from his conversations with Obama in the final days of his presidency. Pelosi, Reid and the Chicago Dems are running the country.

They're already burned out and overwhelmed by the reality of the presidency. It "wasn't what they expected." More than just VIP events and red carpets or the Affirmative Action softball stuff at Harvard and Princeton. They actually had to work and answer questions. Imagine that.
