China is the top holder of US Treasury bills, with 696.2 billion dollars of such securities in December followed by Japan with 578.3 billion dollars, according to the latest official data from Washington. Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi indicated Saturday China would not deviate drastically from its US Treasury policies, but gave no specifics.

Gotta give them some credit. China has learned something by watching our mistakes. They've heard of Welfare, foreign aid, and loansharking to compulsive gamblers. Rewarding bad behavior is a good way to lower someone's standard of living. We're broke. Now we need 'Change'...

Dear China: You, believe it or not, are the last hope for our nation. If you purchase our treasury notes, we will be beholden to you for possibly a trillion dollars. Please save our nation and refuse to buy the notes.

Another article states that a Chinese spokesman said, "China will
continue to talk to the US about the matter."
In other words, "China is in the driver's seat now. The US can talk to us right now, but that will continue only with our permission and on our terms."

I’m an old man and I never thought I’d see the day that more capitalism would be found in China than in the USA.
