A Florida congresswoman conducts the country's business on the floor of the House, and puts in a strong bid for the coveted title of Dumbest Member of Congress.
Watch this incredible video from Corrine Brown. She was elected from a district gerrymandered by the Florida legislature.

Eh, not exactly. She comes from a district demanded by the U.S. Justice Department to fulfill a racist mandate for a race-based district. I'm sure the FL GOP legislature would love to draw this moron out of her seat, it just ain't "legal" to do so because she's "protected" (and go find Republicans with similar protections - there aren't any).
“The Gators are superb to the other teams in our conference.”
Wow, I didn’t know we had protected congressional seats. Seems we are becoming a banana republic.
She and ole Charlie Crist should get along just fine. Twin idiots.
LOL
Aren’t you glad she only works in Congress and not at the drive thru window at your local McDonalds?
I suspect you are wrong. I bet the FL legislature is happy dumping 90+ percent Dims into one district and having her represent the Dim party nationally. This strategy has helped the GOP numbers in the House.
This is what ESPN gets paid to do. So let them do it. Why waste time with trivial matters like this when there are far more important issues at hand? Who does she suppose wants to hear her struggle through her praise of the gators?
Get up there in her gold granny gown that somebody done sewed a gator patch on, sounding like she never heard of football before that day. I don’t think I have ever heard even Kleaglebird get up and struggle through some praise festival for the home team.
He may have, because I never know what the hell he is talking about and have serious doubts that he does.
obviously a master of elocution in how to destroy the english language and make yourself look like a golden barrage balloon.
We are so screwed as a country, it is like living "Idiocracy" (see movie, by the same name)
Its also like Shela Jackson (where is the flag that our astronauts put up) Lee, when talking to mission control on the landing of the Mars rover, where the scientist had to point out that the astronauts put a flag up on the moon, not Mars.
Can’t see the video, but this idiot represents part of my county, and also the U of Florida. Assuming that she is a Gator fan, it is unexceptional down here. Sorry for her lack of English speaking skills.
I think this is otrageous this is not what this woman was sent to the House for. My tax dollars are paying for this hack the House should be ashamed
It’s a good thing to pack rat voters into safe rat seats like Brown’s. I wouldn’t think trying to overreach and divide her territory between GOP seats would be a good idea, could turn them rat.
You can debate the part about the FL legislature trying to pack as many Dems into one district, but I’m not wrong about this being a Justice Dept. mandated district. She is protected.
With little exception, nearly every Black & Hispanic-member district is protected for a Democrat member. The exceptions are the 3 Cuban Republicans in FL, but they’ve had uncomfortably close calls with the last election. They mandated we draw more Hispanics into a TX district that had a Hispanic Republican (Bonilla), and a new special election had to be called under changed lines, and the Dems captured it. We did win one of those Black districts by accident (the NOLA one), but that was due to the unusual circumstances, and that was, of course, won by the first Vietnamese-American, Ang Cao (but as of now, there are no Asian districts demanded by the Justice Dept., although there might be at some point in CA).
Actually, you could take the risk in districts with very low voter turnout, you just have to be careful.
Republicans have had several opportunities to weaken or eliminate these districts but they won’t. It tends to keep wavering voters in line when they can point to a Corrine Brown and say “It could happen here”.
