In September 2007, 3Com was acquired by Bain Capital Partners for about $2.2 billion in cash. As part of the deal, Chinese networking giant Huawei Technologies wants to take a minority stake of 10% in 3Com. This business relationship has caused a security review by CFIUS.
I'm disturbed to see that Huawei Technologies has signed business agreements with Irancell, in Iran. Wouldn't this violate the Defense Authorization Bill for Bain Capital?
China seems to have quite a history with keeping American Off Balance.
