The Los Angeles times is reporting that the California state senate has passed a bevy of bills that will increase the cost of doing business. First, they passed a bill, SB 789, to allow the state equivalent of federal card check, allowing farmworkers unions to form without a secret ballot. According to the LA Times, Instead of holding an election with secret ballots, workers could submit cards, signed by a majority of the workers asking for representation, to state labor authorities. This is bad policy and more than that, it encourages bullying tactics from union thugs. How many people are going to refuse to sign a union card if theyre in a union organizers home?
When I was considering relocation to Idaho, so people suggested renting my home...in case I wanted to return. Hell no. I wanted to get out of California. When my mom passes, her house will be sold. There's no point in renting with the loonies in control.

This sounds like it may give the banks an incentive to “play nice” with any tenants in the foreclosed properties, and keep them in the loop on the proceedings. Not necessarily a bad thing, since renters aren’t the ones defaulting on the mortgage.
Maybe it’s unfair to the banks, but I don’t think the banks should be throwing tenants out of the property without plenty of advance notice, either.
