Make it easier yet—all conservatives get out. This could be a great way to make the rest of the country more conservative and maybe we could take over both houses of congress as well as perpetually occupy the WH.

Oh that’s nice idea. And then while the gay activist is at the elementary school after asking about gay marriage he can follow it up with “Do you like gladiator movies?”

The gay version of Mission Accomplished.

Morford is right though—teens and college age young people are far more tolerant of gay marriage.

Not because they undertsand its reality or its implication, but because it is more the socially acceptable and “cool” position to take.

Very few youngster take a contrarian view, because they want to fit it.

That is why we need to engage the younger members of our family in the discussion—nieces, nephews, cousins, grandkids, etc.—sound them out and help them to see what our view is.

Another observation—if the present trends hold, we will have OK’d same sex marriage and outlawed abortion on demand by the same time frame. Food for thought.

If the battle is already over, they wouldn't be so foul-mouthed and angry at their opponents. The reaction isn't that of someone confident they have the opposition beaten once and for all.

>It’s never too late for activism, until they get their way.

That’s kind of like saying: “It’s never too late to shoot someone, until you bury the body.”

It's so obvious they are not able to think past themselves. It's about them, and what they want, and they think normal people are suppose to care what they want, when there are, as you state, life and death issues to deal with. They are a waste of time and money. As California sinks deeper into a depression their crying will grow older and older. They make me sick.

The CA courts have said before that a ban on homosexual marriage is ok because heterosexuals do not want to marry people of the same sex.
Since heterosexuals do not want to marry people of the same sex there is no basis for a discrimination claim.

The wiser, gentler and older Gays, that I've known, are striving for “Civil Union” recognition.

Most of them will admit having read and enjoyed “Huck Finn” & other works of literature using the “N” word. They understand the value and emotional Power of a single WORD.

They are & I are, honestly, baffled by this Demand that religious folks surrender the word “Marriage”.

I'm over 60, still married to my 1st Wife, My Kids are grown, married & moved on. The concept of having Gay Neighbors {again} doesn't worry me. Capable Gays have been delightful co-workers.

Zealots, of any persuasion, aren't what I want next door.

the Ironic thing is that the court only ruled on whether or not the people of California had the right to amend the state Constitution in that manor, they showed their Bias in ignoring the actual law by allowing some marriages in contravention of the new law.

Well seeing as how “that’s gay” is the #1 slam to give another in the under 18 crowd I think this person has bumped their head. It might be that way in Caliifornia but not every where! Besides they are going to need many more votes than they think to over turn all of the state constitutional amendments to get what they want.

Ask the same bepimpled youth what they think about legalizing cocaine and having sex with farm animals.

Thankfully, we are not yet a nation run by bepimled youth (though Obambi comes close).

Apparently, this editorial writer doesn’t ask anyone who plays video games. (NSFW) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6alOnuN-wCY

But you are very correct. Kids know school is worthless and just say anything to pass.

A few years ago in college, I had a young female teacher, who was from the Bay Area of California, who asked if anyone opposed gay marriage. No student would speak up because, for one thing, students rarely speak up about anything in the classroom, but also they are there to get school credit, and they are well aware of not angering the teacher. So my hand was the only one that went up.

“But... WHY!???” she almost cried.

“Social Security, Medicare, and numerous other government services will go broke throughout the Westernized World because of low birth rates. It makes absolutely no sense for the state to legally sanction something that will increase to the low birth rate problem as no children can emerge from a gay union.”

“Whether or not gay marriage becomes legal or not does not matter. What matters is that the states of the Western nations will not allow themselves to collapse. [Next, I speak about how I am a political science major and asked my Constitutional Law professor, who is a member of the Supreme Court Society of if the court can do the following:] Can, and will, the Supreme Court of the United States overrule previous rulings on gay marriage, Roe v. Wade, and even Griswold v. Connecticut if low or negative birth rates harm the state? His answer was clear: ‘Hell yes’.”

The teacher was stunned because she had never heard an argument against gay marriage like that. It is funny that the issue of children is not even considered when it comes to gay marriage advocates.

Forty years ago, if you asked any young woman if she believed in feminism, she would have said ‘Yes!’ Yet, feminism (I am referring to the radical pro-abortion type feminism here) hasn’t grown but shrunk. The reason why is very clear. Values are transmitted primarily through parent to child. Feminists do not have many children. Therefore, they cannot grow.

Abortion was also said to be something the ‘young people’ were for. Yet, abortion is now primarily opposed. Birth rates are an explanation. There is another explanation.

The argument of gay marriage, like abortion, is no longer about the issue. Court rulings have infuriated the people because it is choosing a controversial issue where the people have no say. I have no doubt that some of the Prop 8 vote was to vote for people to decide the issue, not the courts.

In this long, bloated, ruling from the court upholding Prop 8, they are still sticking it to the people’s eye with allowing the initial gay marriages to stand. The gay marriage advocates say this will ‘disprove any notion that gay marriages are harmful’. Boy, these folks don’t have a clue, do they? To the contrary, it will just continue burning the resentment because those gay marriages were enforced by courts.

You just got to sit back and laugh at the thinking that goes on in these people. Giving a politically correct answer is not proof that anyone actually agrees with it. I am laughing at how this political correctness is biting these liberals in the butt.

Where were all those ‘young people’ that were supposed to emerge from nowhere to vote for Obama? They never showed up because they never show up at any election. Yet, we heard this throughout the campaign.

McGovern also bet on ‘young people’ to sweep him into power. We know how that went.

And then there is this ‘young person’ from California who has made it clear she is not for ‘gay marriage’. Now we know why she was so hated: she ruined the ‘make believe’ that all young people were for gay marriage!
