Another Tiananmen massacre is just around the corner.

I was just thinking...get the angle just right and you could pop both of those trike-riders with a single shot.

Organization is the key. Otherwise it will peter out unless there is a dissenting camp inside the regime which will side with protesters.
Romanian uprising would have been impossible without its army siding with protesters. Islamic Revolution in Iran would have been impossible without U.S. gov headed by Carter forced Shah to leave Iran.

This is just awesome, Ahmadinejad must be crapping his pants and now he knows we know his support and control is not what we thought it was, oh man if they tear that country apart and go for a pro-western government that would be awesome, I know alot of the younger folks are sick of all this crap and hatred ...

Somehow I seem to remember that the Shah was outside the country seeking medical treatment when he finally lost his grip on power....

The students and the urban elite may be sick of the theocracy...but as long as the Mullahs & The Nutjob have the army..they ain’t goin anywhere.
This reform movement i.e. “counter-revolution” will be crushed .....just like the last time.

Ahmadinejad is a blithering idiot. He's a stooge, a puppet of the mullahs. It is Al Khomeni and the mullahs who are the true power in Iran. Apparently this new guy is not a stooge or it wouldn't matter who became President. This investigation could be the mullahs caving and setting up a pretense for getting rid of Ahmadinejad.

Well, I don't know what was the official excuse. I distinctly remember Shah and his entourage walk to his plane in an airport, which he piloted out of the country.

And amazingly enough, we here people over here, even some in office, saying the election was stolen. Yet they are not willing to face our election problems here!

It's a damn shame we don't have a man who can lead without a script.
This is like the berlin wall, if we are diligent.

I don’t think so. The culture and temperament of the people of Iran are a great deal different than China, the Iranians are armed with technology and knowledge. They have also in recent memory overthrown their government before. From the reports, they are building rappor with the police.
Finally, if 60% of your populace decides it has had enough, it is going to be near impossible for them to kill or imprison them all.
God bless the people of Iran!

The Mullahs will have to be gone before any true reform can happen in Iran.

if this continues to build steam and the Iranian regime sees itself losing its grip got to watch out for them provoking a military conflict with either U.S. or Israel to unify the population

I doubt it will be a “pro-western” government. I’m not sure what it will be. It depends on how far this “revolution” goes. They need to dump the mad mullahs and have an elected secular government, and tell the mullahs to stick to the mosques.
What they may wind up with may be just as virulently anti-American as the current regime. However, the important thing is that Iran get whatever government it’s people want.

This is all very interesting but I dont understand what difference it makes to us. THe difference between Imanutjob and his opponent are about as much as Obama and Barney Frank.
