“Peanuts” acted like a total bitch when our hostages were taken, but there wasn’t much he could have done to save the Shah. That was a bottom-up uprising against the 20th century, and the Shah was too weakenend physically (he was terminally ill) and politically to stop it. Even if Ford were still POTUS, the Shah would still lose the “Peacock Throne.”
