Frank Schaeffer wrote a column for the Huffington Post entitled The Real Lesson of Iran Beware Americas Republican Mullahs.
Is this THE Frank Schaeffer, the wayward son of the late, great Christian thinker -- Francis Schaeffer ? Say it ain't so ...

“It takes a certain kind of sociopath to witness great tragedy and then turn back to his narrow political talking points completely unaffected.” Superb writing.
Frank Schaeffer was a conservative herald back in the 1980’s. His father was a pillar of common sense.
It would be tragic if he has lost his way that badly.

Yes, it's that Frank Schaeffer. Apparently he went somewhat off his rocker after failing to become a successful film director. He directed four films in the late 80s/early 90s, all of which were flops and earned ratings below 5.0 on IMDB (their rating system is very generous, so a film has to be abysmal to fall that low, and all four of his films did).
In our decadent society, the easiest way for a conservative sub-mediocrity to earn praise and adulation from the “beautiful people” is to turn liberal, especially on social issues. So never let it be said that Franky doesn't follow the path of least resistance.

Yeah, THE Frank Schaeffer, the one who thinks he created the Moral Majority and is now flagellating himself in remorse.
