As for myself, and being a geezer, I think at some point accepting useless medical care is squandering my children's future. It seems illogical to yell about the deficits we are leaving our children but at the same time demand every last dime out of the health care system..

In both his news conference and infomercial, the President almost taunted private insurers abIout “competing” with his proposed “public option”. As a by-product of the Chicago Machine, “competition” to him may mean something different than what most of us would assume, like the same rules, a level playing field, things like that. Has anyone heard about eliminating the barriers private companies have for interstate sales? Mandates? Of course not.In the private sector, premiums are a function of: Risk; the cost of actual previous experience; administrative expenses; taxes; profit (he hates that word) margin and RESERVES FOR FUTURE CLAIMS,(the reserves for VA,zero;Medicaid,zero; Medicare,$31trillion UNFUNDED liability). Private insurer costs are offset by investment earnings that a “public option” won’t have. What replaces not only the investment earnings but lost investment capital for the economy? Isn’t it clear Obama wants to control both risk and capital,the 2 primary elemnts of a market economy? An unlevel playing field tilts the “game” Chicago Machine style to the “public option” and will lead, through “competition” to the desired goal, a single payor system. To paraphrase Alinsky: the organizer must have sight of the long term goal, but must work towards and appreciate UNCHANGABLE incremental successes. Go Comrade Go.

If this was not a power grab but true reform, I would offer an easy alternative to health care reform.
Make health insurance only for catastrophic illness.
Everyday concerns pay as you go.
Pay a retainer to local Doctor, 100-200 /month. Not much more than car/home insurance.
Then do away with blood sucking tort lawyers.
Doctors are people not God, get liability insurance under control.
Lastly , how to put this without being banned.
Get liberalism declared mental illness, sterilize anyone showing liberal tendencies, do not allow adoption,do not allow to be teachers.
Pissing off a geezer can be hazardous to your health.
So will about everything else we do.
That's for sure. I had to fight BCBS tooth and nail to get them to pay what they should on my husband's triple bypass, they kept paying claims at 50% instead of 90%. I was on the phone with them at least 2 hours a day for months.
They also recently forced us onto a mail-in prescription plan that has been a total nightmare, they cut one of my prescriptions by half of the doseage that was prescribed by my doctor and I had to file a formal complaint with our HR department over it before they restored it.
Then I just received a letter from a subrogation recovery firm yesterday about my husband's lumbar injections even though the medical reports clearly state the deterioration in his back is due to age related issues. I also got notice that BCBS has so far denied to pay the claim even though the procedure was pre-approved.
The worst part of it all is that by the time they pay the claims as they are supposed to, it starts affecting your credit.

I believe in the video he was talking about the necessity to bring in another doctor other than the abortionist to assess the baby. You are right that he also directed the word “burden” to the mother, parents or society who may now be responsible for additional unanticipated medical expenses.
From what we heard last night - he clearly believes it is the duty of the baby and the medical staff to allow the baby to expire without any attempt to secure life and the blessings of liberty for him/her.

Being a proud member of Geezer-R-Us, I resent the idea that the Inheritance Tax revenue is driving this, I think...they want those old-timers to go so the revenue stream can be used to offset the Trillions they need to insure drug addicts, welfare recipients, illegal squatters, and the homeless......they probably already have counted how much they can gain in Death Tax dollars in their calculations of Baby Boomer estates.....”
It is a two-fer:
Don’t spend money on us to keep us alive.
Raise more death (inheritance) taxes with a spike of dead people.
A three-fer if you count that fewer of us will demand food and water. At the rate that they are pushing to shut down ranches and farms in the USA, you will be soon held hostage to another country for your food. Other countries don’t have near the standards of cleanliness and lack of pesticides that we do...You take your chances eating their stuff.
Then E-coli will run rampant, killing even more of us.
Pretty soon, Wildlands Project has the 90% reduction in USA population they have been preaching for a number of years.
