Unfortunately, the only two people I know of that are intelligent enough to sit in for Rush are Mark Steyn and Thomas Sowell. While the content is good when they're on, I don't think either of them has the radio talent of Limbaugh.

I will definitely donate. I get so frustrated not being able to do more, but as you say sometimes donations are what is needed and that's a simple solution.

IIRC Davis lynched Sanford the day before he returned from Argentina. The media, in their usual frenzy over a possible Republican stumble, were not even indicting him yet on filandering charges, just for going off on a long hike without letting his officials in SC know where he was precisely!

By late Monday afternoon I had already decided that Sanford had fatally misbehaved and needed to be dropped from future office and I was posting here about it because we already knew that he had disappeared and was not hiking and that his car had been found at the airport.
By Tuesday there just wasn’t any question that he had gone off the deep end, the only thing that we learned when he landed at the Atlanta airport was where he had been and that he had a girlfriend but his presidential hopes were known to be over on the Monday of that week, so if I had been on the radio I would have been anti Sanford as well.
I don't either. I do begrudge him the boring golf stories afterward. And other then Steyn, his guest hosts aren't so good. But like I said, Dennis generally has a better show anyway.
I pretty much turn Rush off when he starts taking calls. It's always sycophants and it's bad radio. Nothing is less entertaining than some caller telling the host how wonderful they are. Rush would never allowed it a few years ago. Remember the caller seminars? Now he soaks it up, while I reach for the dial. The guy the other day trying to get rush to go to a football game with him was painful. I didn't turn the dial then for the same reason I don't look away from car crashes.

WBAP is large enough that it covers a LARGE portion of Texas—it is VERY popular with truckers and quite comforting to someone traveling long distances across the state!
Mark Davis DID have a 1 hour national show last year, with a local hour long show just prior, don’t listen to him much anymore so not sure what happened with the nat’l show...I like him about 75% of the time, but it really bugs me when he gets furious and I mean RED FACED APOPLECTIC YELLING at callers. My respect for him went down several notches several years ago when he advocated the murder of Terri Schiavo. :*(
I called into his show twice. Once he told me I was brilliant, the other time he told me I was the reason for call screeners; so I’m batting .500 with him. At his best, he’s like sitting around having a cup of coffee with an interesting guy.
He did say that effective after this miss today. I hate it when he is off. It is tolerable when he has Walter Williams sub or Mark Styen (sp) but the other Marks..miss the mark as far as I am concerned.
