I deeply resent Dick Armey trying to co-opt the tea-party movement and make it his own. He is not our leader. Our own JimRob has done way more to drive attendance at the DC march, but you don't see him putting himself, or even FR, front and center.

The parade has started, and Armey is running like hell to get in front of it to lead it.

We knew this was going to happen. If Dick Armey gets in front of the Tea Party Express, he’s road kill.

I agree. I wish Dick Armey would just butt out.

This has been planned for a while (if you can call it planned.) Armey is just trying to take over something he didn’t create.

I understand your feelings, and I believe they are very valid, but the end purpose of the tea parties - namely the inevitable increase in taxation from government overspending - is served by defeating this healthcare mess. I have no doubt that Armey seeks to grow his organization through this action, but I’m not so sure that would be such a bad thing. Revolutions eat their young, as Voltaire said.

I will point out as well that Dick Armey’s FREEDOM WORKS is a PROPONENT of COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM, and the website is full of statements about their position, which is much the same as Bush/McCain/Palin...they all agree that their should be a path to citizenship for illegal aliens...using the economy as an excuse for a “path” form of amnesty.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Obama begins pushing the issue. If Tea Partiers oppose as they should, no doubt FREEDOM WORKS will no longer be ‘friend’, but ‘foe’.

lol. freedomworks has been involved in several prior tea party events. There are a LOT of different players involved in these evetns, let them all join the parade ... the more the merrier.
