U.S. to Shelve Nuclear-Missile Shield in Europe

WASHINGTON -- The White House will shelve Bush administration plans to build a missile-defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic, according to people familiar with the matter, a move likely to cheer Moscow and roil the security debate in Europe.

The U.S. will base its decision on a determination that Iran's long-range missile program has not progressed as rapidly as previously estimated, reducing the threat to the continental U.S. and major European capitals, according to current and former U.S. officials.

The findings, expected to be completed as early as next week following a 60-day review ordered by President Barack Obama, would be a major reversal from the Bush administration, which pushed aggressively to begin construction of the Eastern European system before leaving office in January.

Next the phuking raghead and Kenyan Poseur will announce the unilateral dismantling of the U.S. armed forces and the outsourcing of our defenses to the UN and African Congress.

This is sickening. Eastern Europe (former Soviet-bloc countires) have been among our staunchest allies in the WOT. THis is a stupid and dangerous move.

Considering Barack Insane Obama is “stupid and dangerous” this should come as no surprise.

From a related article:

Jan Vidim, a lawmaker with Czech Republic's conservative Civic Democratic Party — which supported the missile defense plan — said it's "hard to imagine how unfair" it would be for Obama to cancel at this stage.

"If the administration approaches us in the future with any request, I would be strongly against it," he said.

I guess the Bamster would just prefer to go it alone...

As I've said before, the day will come when ordinary people are begging for, demanding, Ronald Reagan's "Star Wars."

His loyalties lie elsewhere, certainly not with the USA. His actions are intentional. He knows exactly what he is doing...and why.

Unfortunately he only wants to go it alone when it comes to freedom loving Western oriented democracies. Alienating the Czech Republic and Poland plays into his game plan and sowing future mistrust of US defense plans with the Eastern European countries fits right into his mindset.

Well, I was thinking that his advisers might have convinced him that a missile defense shield would be better placed a few hundred miles to the east. ;-)

Better to defend against those capitalist pigs from the major Satan.

How long before our national nightmare decides to unilaterally disarm? Can he get rid of our nukes? What then would keep an aspiring empire from nuking us?

Do you feel safer under an Obama Administration? NO!

This will allow Iran to hold Europe hostage as soon as the Obama's wacky Ahatola friends get nukes and the missiles to hit France, England, and other European countries.

I think Obroma is mostly controlled by Soros and his globalist friends. That said, I really don't understand how letting Iran have this power over Europe will help them? Is this one area that Obi is letting his upbringing and true religion take over controls of the puppet strings? Or, do the globalist see an advantage in a Europe that is under the fear of Iran?

I think it's just the wacky Leftist anti-war, anti-military, kumbaya philosophy coming out. The same philosophy that started with appeasing Mussolini and Adolph Hitler and ultimately led to WWII. The same philosophy that thought we were the aggressors in Vietnam and simply leaving would be the answer, and never anticipated the Khmer Rouge, reeducation camps, and the exodus of the boat people. And the same philosophy that today praises Cuban health care under Fidel Castro.

When you think about it, we've always had these types amongst us. Giving them any power is a really bad idea.

As Chamberlain and Daladier betrayed the Czechs and Poles to the Germans in 1938, Obama betrays the Czechs and Poles to the Russians in 2009. As the Democrats in Congress betrayed South Vietnam and Cambodia in 1974 and 1975, the Democrats in Congress tried (and may yet succeed) to betray Iraq in 2008 and will betray Afghanistan in 2009 or 2010. As Carter was 'shocked' by the Iranian Revolution and its attack on American diplomats, and 'shocked' by the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan, Obam will be 'shocked' by......

They never learn.

When will the American people realize that the Democratic Party can NEVER be trusted with our national security.

Of course “his loyalties lie elsewhere.” He certainly has British Commonwealth citizenship. He probably has Kenyan and Indonesion cititzenship. He might also be a U.S. citizen, but, given that Indonesia did not permit dual citizenship, that seems unlikely. If course, he is also not eligible to be president of the U.S. so any treaty he abrogates or signs will be nullified if and when our judicial system executes its sworn responsibility to honor the Constitution. I think the Obama team expects the Constitution to be an historical artifact before the end of his first term, and thus openly declared his British citizenship to sycophants in the media and the legislature.

He’s brother under the skin (the color thereof is of no concern) to the President that gave away the Panama Canal.

Everyone seems to speculate that it was pressure from Putin that made Dear Leader scrap this. Putin denies it, saying that he have not really spoken with Dear Leader about it.

Meanwhile, the world’s largest radical Muslim country got what they wanted. As it now stands, Iran will have nuclear weapons in 12-18 months, and ICBM’s that can reach all of Western Europe and maybe even the USA by 2012/2013. And the only defense mechanism planned (apart from negotiations and sanctions) has been scrapped.

The only barrier that remains between Iran as a radical Muslim superpower with nuclear weapons and intercontinental delivery mechanisms is Israel, who now pretty much stands alone in that fight. NATO is spineless, the Russians are selling Iran the technology and Dear Leader just capitulated to the largest radical Muslim government on the planet.

Let’s hope it is not too late to stop a global tragedy before Dear Leader can be voted out. Even then it will be tough to reverse the potentially devastating course of events that started here today.
