Health reformers targeting 'enemies'- Protest events tightly scripted (ACORN will be there!)
The Washington Times ^ | September 19, 2009 | S.A. Miller

Posted on 09/19/2009 12:17:31 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The plan for a series of grass-roots demonstrations Tuesday to promote President Obama's health care agenda calls for tightly scripted events and an "escalation" of efforts against "enemies" of reform.

Organizers insist there is no comparison to rowdy summer town hall meetings and recent "tea party" protests that have challenged White House policies.

But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its "insurance enemies project."

The document, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, details specific talking points, tactics, props and strategies to stage the protests. It lists goals that include action that "mobilizes our base by animating existing anger about private insurers."

The HCAN field plan dictates that each protest will include a minimum of 30 participants, target only health care insurers CIGNA, WellPoint and United Health Care and showcase what it calls "victims," or people who have either lost insurance, can't afford it or were denied coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions.

"We built a campaign to win health care reform and that is exactly what we are working on," said HCAN national spokeswoman Jacki Schechner, who authenticated the documents. But she asserted: "There is nothing top-down about this."

The field plan says the protests should attract media coverage that "creates villains or enemies that serve as a contrast with our side; validates the need for affordability and the public health insurance option; [and] forces the other side to respond."(continued)

Why would anyone buy health insurance if pre-existing conditions couldn't disqualify you?! Do these people know anything about profit & loss at all?!

Yes, and each "protest" will be covered ad infinitum by the MSM, because "it's real news."

I guess that ACORN's budget is shrinking if they can only afford to pay 30 "protesters" for each "protest".

"escalation" of efforts against "enemies" of reform.

They already bit off someone's finger. What would "escalation" be? Biting off feet?

re: ACORN will be there!

40 years ago there was a poster making the rounds that showed some hapless soul surrounded by alligators. The caption explained how hard it is to drain the swamp when you're up to your ass in alligators. I think this is where Acorn is starting to find itself these days. There days of doing their mischief under the radar are over. They've had lot of years to work their harm, all in the name of good of course, with very few outside of their ranks aware of what was happening. No more!

Much of the damage they were able to do would not have been possible without the low profile they've kept over the years. If there's one place conservatives dropped the ball it was in knowing what our adversaries were up to and moving against them when they were relatively vulnerable. But that's true of so much in our lives. For whatever reason we fail to tackle a problem until it takes herculean efforts to do what could have been done earlier without breaking a sweat.

I would hasten to add though, that like the monster in a B-grade you can't let ACORN’s current appearance to be on the ropes lull us into a false sense of security.

Happily, the Left often makes it quite easy to distract them. Just mention Dick Cheney and they frequently lose it, right there on the spot. If that doesn't work you can always bring out the big guns and invoke Sarah Palin. There are precious few liberals who can handle that!

We've very close to having them on the run. Now is not the time to let up.

Nobody is an enemy of healthcare reform. Everyone wants reform, but not everyone wants your oppressive big government solution.

You are the same old tax-and-spend (or spend-and-tax-later) progressives/socialists who have given us massive debt-ridden social programs and other waste, so how can creating an even bigger debt-ridden program be reform?

It isn't about profit and loss it is about getting as much benefit from the big pot called the public benefits.

The whole ACORN schtick is about culling benefits from that great big public trough called the US government.

As far a accountability goes, that's another problem for another day. Rational thinkers know what that means, ACORN volunteers and supporters and employees and benefactors and profiteers don't care about tomorrow since they know the invisible hand of civilization will always be there for them since they are numerous and loud.

and dumb but protected species......radicals.
Keep up the pressure...find more lawsuits and use RICO where we can. Looks like grassroots will have to find smart lawyers as Repubbies are somewhat limited in what they take on. Although they have jumped on the ACORN has to go bandwagon.

These are full-auto nazi tactics (ok, ok, internazi tactics) now.

Soetero, Soros & Co. are using nazi imagery now. The parallels are very real.

No surprise with Soros pulling the levers.

They try this "escalation" here in Tennessee, and those fingers are liable to be inside a trigger guard!

The way it is supposed to work is, there is a pre-existing waiting period...usually 3 months. If you need care immediately you can get into a high risk pool with slightly higher and subsidized premiums.

These usually consist of only about 1% of the insured in a given state. If your state doesn't have one of these it should.

This mechanism gives very sick people immediate coverage and access to the provider network and keeps premiums low for otherwise healthy folks.

It only affects the individual market. Employer provided groups usually assume that if employees are well enough to work, they are well enough to insure.

ACORN has a growing world wide exposure for its reputation

from Mexico and El Salvador for prostitution in the neighboring country and profit
from it.

been willing to provide support to illegal projects.

"The E. F. Hutton of Prostitution: When ACORN Talks, Pimps and Hookers Listen.
The radical activist group ACORN is the E. F. Hutton of prostitution. It stands ready to provide discreet advice
on setting up a brothel and engaging in other, associated acts of criminality. When ACORN talks, pimps and hookers listen.
In Baltimore, ACORN staff assured O’Keefe and Giles that the group doesn’t “discriminate” — i.e., has no standards whatsoever.
Giles is told if she makes $96,000 a year selling sex, she should tell the government she only makes $9,600.
O’Keefe notes that they want a house for 13 underage girls who will be imported from El Salvador to work as prostitutes.
Only three — not all 13 — of the girls can be listed as dependents, ACORN prudently advises. "

"ACORN Prostitution Scandal:San Bernardino VIDEO This Time W/Politicians and Murder
When we last saw our fake pimp and hooker, they were in Brooklyn, with the usual scenario,
trying to find out how ACORN would deal with people looking for a home mortgage
so they can open open up a brothel using under-aged girls.

Today's stop is San Bernardino, California. In this Acorn office we find out the woman who runs the office is also a poll dancer
who may turn tricks on the side. ACORN's is supposedly non political but acording to Teresa,
the woman on the tape helping the pair, she speaks with Congressman and Senators every day because
she is lobbying for the Obamacare bill. She names Barbara "Call Me Senator "Boxer and Senator McCleod,
and 62nd district Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter as people with whom she deals.
Theresa says that “Eden’s” prostitution money would be an asset to James in his quest to become a Senator or Representative.
Also the person who was helping the alter egos of James O' Keefe and Hannah Giles with the prostitution scam
also talks about how she first planned the cover-up then shot and killed her husband."

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles visited one of ACORN’s New York offices in August,
where they picked up handy tips on how to lie on housing forms to cover up a prostitution business
(”Honesty is not going to get you the house,” one ACORN official advises) and how to hide cash
from their illicit business (”When you buy the house with the backyard, you get a tin…
and you bury it down in there…cover it…and put the grass over it…”).

In 1994 the ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC) was awarded a $1.1 million grant
by AmeriCorps, a program of the Corporation for National Service (CNS). The money was intended
to fund the training of 42 AmeriCorps members in 13 cities. The workers were expected to identify
low-income families hoping to purchase a first home, to assist them in finding suitable housing, and to
advise them in securing the necessary financing.

AHC’s initial subterfuge pales in comparison to the illegal fundraising scheme it subsequently operated,
using its AmeriCorps grant to increase ACORN’s membership.
According to Jordan, one ACORN member in the Dallas regional office stated that “the only reason
for having the AmeriCorps program was to gain new ACORN members, and that if AmeriCorps loan
counseling clients did not start becoming ACORN members, she could and would halt the AmeriCorps project.”
Jordan found that this understanding was not limited to the Dallas office.
Using government funds to solicit membership in an organization that— like ACORN—participates in
direct political advocacy is a violation of federal guidelines."

"ACORN: Big Apple, Big Pimping (another shoe drops)
It was just a fluke, ACORN insisted the first time that James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles
published their undercover video showing their office in Baltimore helping a pimp evade taxes
and get a mortgage by deceit for a brothel. They fired a couple of “bad apples” in that office,
and a couple of more bad apples in Washington DC when that office got caught on hidden camera
doing the same thing. In fact. ACORN went so far as to brag that the pair had tried the same thing
and failed in “San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places.”"
