I still don't trust him. I listened to him when he stopped just short of calling for clintbilly to resign. Once a weasel, always a weasel.

IF he actually votes against the bill should it get that far, then I'll retract my words.

Until he’s bought off.

Nothing wrong with that. I just pointed that out in response to the previous poster's question about why Lieberman was taking this position.

It's not as if he's a principled man, mind you.

Lieberman’s Stand: No Public Option.

Harry & the White House: Hey Joe how bout we expand military funding for Israel and we no longer make demands upon them?

Lieberman’s Stand: You got a deal.

Joe Lieberman isn’t that stupid, nor is he known for hypocrisy. He’s a liberal, but his views and votes are not for sale.

Right on, Joe. Don’t change; stay with it.

Does it really matter? Isn't it obvious, he is trying to have his cake and eat it too.

Just voting for cloture was enough to get a public option, in this case, or all we all that stupid? Are we the ostrich with its head in the sand? Even if Joe Lieberman votes no for any bill with a public option, the horse is already out of the barn: as there will be plenty of Dems who will not only fight to support the public option, i.e. the government taking over of your health care decisions, there will be more than plenty to pass this bill, and all the moderates can claim, "They did not vote for a public option..." when in reality, they did, and they knew they did.

EVERYONE IN THE SENATE WHO VOTED FOR CLOTURE, VOTED FOR A PUBLIC OPTION, AS THEY ALL KNOW IN THE END, THEY ONLY NEED 51% SUPPORT FOR GOVERNMENT CONTROL, AND THEY KNEW THEY HAD THE VOTES FOR A GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER, BEFORE THEY VOTED FOR CLOTURE.

NICE WAY TO RUN A COUNTRY, FOLKS.

“The games these slimes play...
Yep, it’s all bullcrap. He and the other so-called “moderates” know that public option or not — if anything passes at all it will ultimately result in total takeover by the government.

The dishonesty is astounding. “

Yes, “Government” insider Eastern Beltway Boshevik takover, at the expense of all private employers and U.S. citizens, JUST LIKE THE BANKING GIVEWAY.

i/ He’s objecting because he’s been in the pocket of the insurance industry ; which has a strong presence in Connecticut for years./i

Correction, insurance has it’s place and value as a financial tool, but it is NOT an industry!

Alot of brainwashing has been going on to what people are now refering to as “insurance” and “banking”

You’re right.

Why didn’t he vote “no” and strangle Rosemary’s Healthcare in the cradle?

An insurance policy is a financial tool.

The company that sells you the insurance policy is part of an enormous industry. Make no mistake about that.

There's no value judgement (positive or negative) associated with what I've just said here. It's just a simple statement of the truth.

I hope you’re not, but my perception is that you are.

I think this will be resolved before Christmas. The Dems have staked their future on it. That’s a strange way to describe it, because I think they know many of them will have their political careers destroyed by this vote.
