“The University of East Anglia and CRU are committed to scientific integrity, open debate and enhancing understanding.

Interesting, since they won’t publicly release their data or formulas...”

Also interesting that they tried to stifle debate by shunning peer review publications that published articles by the heretics...or “sceptics” as they called them.

"Somebody needs to point out to Mr. Ed that James Hansen, the jackoff at NASA who is *the* major global warming alarmist in the US, has his PhD in physics."

Last night, Ed Begley dismissed some of the scientists that signed a dissenting form because the scientists were weathermen. Obviously, these people have some type of degree in earth science or something and not this climatology degree. More importantly, they study weather and weather patterns every friggin day!!! It's quite obvious that they must know something about weather!!

By Ed Begley's standards, no one except the Generals should be listened to when it comes to Afghanistan and the war on terror. After all, those are the experts. We can dismiss Obama because he has no experience in combat.

"On time-scales of 5-10 years, however, there is a broad scientific consensus that the Earth will continue to warm, "

Errr... but it's been cooling... That's the problem you liar!

If they are in favor of “open debate”, then they should release all their emails. It would enhance our understanding of what they are doing. Ditto for all the other AGW institutes.

Interesting thought. If it could be proven....How DO they track a hacker?

Saw Begley earlier today.

I thought someone from FNC was going to have to “dart gun” him.

Was he not just the ‘walking stereotype’ libtard? I love how he was screaming at Varney about the ‘credentials’ of scientists......and how we should only believe those with ‘letters’ after their names. LOL! Typical.

I simply can't imagine why a scientist of integrity would withhold data or would defend somebody who engages in such unethical behavior.

Moreover, a "scientist" who refuses to release his raw data or his source code should be ostracized by the other members of his profession, and his work should be ignored.

To take a contrary stand is to undermine perhaps the most important pillar of empirical science, which is the ability to replicate the findings of an experiment or study.

It is a religion - it’s a Secular Apocalyptic Religion that has its own monks and chastisements and cells and heretics and like all other false religions its central tenet is Mammon, earthly delight and lucre.

I guess it’s a little much to expect them to say:

‘You caught us! We admit it’s all a hoax.’

They are going to continue to do what they have been caught doing in the emails: Lie, obfuscate and do everything in their power to prevent the release of the documents.

They really need to cut their losses, admit fault and be done with it. This is spinning in the wildest sense.

This is very reminiscent of CBS’ spin, when, after they were caught pushing a forged document to undercut Bush’s ANG training documents. (paraphrased) “Though the document is determined to be not entirely authentic, we remain in firm agreement with the essence of its meaning.”

Why You Should Be Hot and Bothered About 'Climate-gate'
FoxNews.com ^ | November 24, 2009 | John Lott

Computer hackers have obtained 160 megabytes of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in England. These e-mails, which have now been confirmed as real, involved many researchers across the globe with ideologically similar advocates around the world. They were brazenly discussing the destruction and hiding of data that did not support global warming claims. The academics here also worked closely with the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Professor Phil Jones, the head of the Climate Research Unit, and Professor Michael Mann at Pennsylvania State University, who has been an important scientist in the climate debate, have come under particular scrutiny.

Among his e-mails, Professor Jones talks to Professor Mann about the "trick of adding in the real temps to each series...to hide the decline [in temperature]."..."

Another professor at the Climate Research Unit, Tim Osborn, discusses in e-mails how truncating a data series can hide a cooling trend that would otherwise be seen in the results. Professor Mann sent Professor Osborn an e-mail saying that the results he is sending shouldn't be shown to others because the results support critics of global warming. Time after time the discussions refer to hiding or destroying data. ..."

There are thousands of dedicated, honest scientists who have been inartfully labeled as "deniers" and have had years of their work dismissed or supressed by the CRU gang. I bet they'll make damn sure these hippie clowns go down.

Of course you are correct. BUT the Jurassic media will give the 'scientists' cover since the media have the same agenda as the 'climate scientists', so-called - the destruction of capitalism and to bring America down to the level of all the rest of the turd-worlders.
