I had to pay $150 for mine, but I do live in California.
Can't get their 40 Caliber here because it isn't on the “approved” list and Hi Point doesn't want to go through all the trouble.
That being said, my S&W Model 29 (44 Magnum) is still my favorite gun.

According to Hi-Point’s own website, the suggested retail price on this right now is $155. Still a good deal. I may pick up a couple as well as one of their carbines, just to have around.

I’m from Texas so we don’t have to worry about this but what does it mean to be on approved list in California and what does it take for a firearm to get on the approved list?
