As someone who had to go though this for 3 years back in the early ‘80s, I’d disagree with your assessment.
I had to work part-time and donate blood to LIVE back then.
When I finally got a full time job in ‘84, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
Can you raise a family or pay bills on 12 hours, 18 hours a week? But it keeps the unemployment numbers looking better, eh?
