Willis Eschenbach at Watts Up With That discovers homogenization shenanigans in the Global Historical Climate Network temperature record for Darwin, Australia, excerpted below:
Intrigued by the curious shape of the average of the homogenized Darwin records, I then went to see how they had homogenized each of the individual station records. What made up that strange average shown in Fig. 7? I started at zero with the earliest record. Here is Station Zero at Darwin, showing the raw and the homogenized versions.
What on earth justifies that adjustment? How can they do that? We have five different records covering Darwin from 1941 on. They all agree almost exactly. Why adjust them at all? Theyve just added a huge artificial totally imaginary trend to the last half of the raw data! Now it looks like the IPCC diagram in Figure 1, all right . . . but a six degree per century trend? And in the shape of a regular stepped pyramid climbing to heaven? Whats up with that?
Those, dear friends, are the clumsy fingerprints of someone messing with the data Egyptian style . . . they are indisputable evidence that the homogenized data has been changed to fit someones preconceptions about whether the earth is warming.
One thing is clear from this. People who say that Climategate was only about scientists behaving badly, but the data is OK are wrong. At least one part of the data is bad, too. The Smoking Gun for that statement is at Darwin Zero. . . .

Every bit of Data on the Globe needs to be reexamined....
Rush discussing the Guardian and Danish Text leaked.
Got a thread on that Copenhagen Leak:
Copenhagen climate summit in disarray after 'Danish text' leak
But IIRC, the East Anglia data don't even exist anymore, they've been working off a massaged database for years.
Sorry.. posted earlier, and pinged.
That's only half the problem!
Look carefully, and note that someone has subtracted a similar amount to temperatures prior to around 1940.
How heavy-handed can these criminals get?
HMMM>>>Must use the right vertical but then there is the little drop down from 1920 to 1930....
Does look suspicious...
Any independent records for Darwin historical temps ....?

this site appears to be comprehensive...
They would probably try to convince you water is made out of dry saw dust.
It is a shame Darwin is misspelled at the top of the graph. As one progresses through the lead up graphs at the site all looked good. This is the one some may want to share with others, and it does not look good seeing Dawin.

The main airport in the Northern Territory region of Australia, Darwin Airport (DRW) is approximately 13 km / 8 miles to the north-east of Darwin city centre and off the busy McMillans Road, covering some 750 acres / 300 hectares. Airlines here are both domestic and international, with the highest number of flights being offered by Qantas and the city’s very own Airnorth, a regional airline service linking many remote towns and villages.
With two runways, one of which is more than double the length of the other, the airfield at Darwin Airport shares with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and various helicopters. The airport itself features just one terminal and has recently installed a new automated parking system, with a competitive sliding-scale tariff. Also opened a short time ago is the Bagot Road intersection, which is expected to ease the load of more than 500,000 vehicles travelling to and from Darwin Airport each year.
