“So Constantine and the council who decided which of the writings done by different men..”

Constantine and anybody else involved are an invention of God. If you accept the Truth of Almighty God's existence, that is if you believe in God, then you MUST accept that the words he handed down to us are PRECISELY accurate. Otherwise your god is a bungler, botch artist, clown, farcial ass, take your pick. If you DON'T happen to accept that there is an almighty God then obviously men composed the Bible but in that case who the the hell even cares?

But One who not only can see across time but also INVENTED it, One who knew your name and the number of hairs on your head all the way back at the dawn of Time is not bloody likely to feckup the words handed down. Frankly, if you were to task me with separating the night from the day and the sea from the firmament verses, say, getting the right lingo into a book I'd much rather take the latter assignment. One who could do the former isn't going to stumble much when it comes to accomplishing the latter

Your post makes my point on this tread eloquently. No matter what proof of any kind is set before you if it goes against the teachings in a book you will never even open yourself up to the possibility of it being right.

There have been times in my life when I do envy people with your unwavering faith, I know I will never feel that strongly or surely about any belief, too much proof of the fallacy of man I guess.

We are at war with people who think exactly like you do but with another book, one that differs greatly from yours yet their argument for it is exactly the same, word for word. They use it to justify some of the worst acts of cruelty known to man, yet are sure it is His will they are doing it for.

I look at their argument, I look at yours, and if one is based on a man like Mohammad who would use his teachings to create a following that men are willing to kill over then I see others possibly doing it also.

I see people falling over themselves to throw their lives into the belief that an alien is imprisoned in a volcano somewhere. If L. Ron Hubbard lived 3000 years ago in that time frame could not his writings have been interpreted by millions also as divine?

I do believe that there is more to our lives that what science can ever show, but I just can’t put my faith in the ancient writings of people who were also struggling to understand where we came from and what it all means.
