Scott Brown on the hustings: Will Ted Kennedy's government health care dream die at the hands of his successor? AP

Politics: Democrats seated two senators under shady conditions and rewrote a state election law to keep their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. Now they plan to deny Scott Brown entry if he wins Ted Kennedy's seat.

The fate of health care reform may very well hinge on the Jan. 19 special election in Massachusetts to fill the seat of Kennedy, for whom passage has been touted as a sort of final tribute to this champion of the nanny state.

As Democratic chances in 2010 are buffeted by public opposition, Republican Brown's chances to win the seat have shifted from science fiction to a real possibility. The polls are conflicted. The Boston Globe shows Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley with a 50-35 lead. Public Policy Polling puts Brown up 48-47.

Democrats are apparently so concerned that Brown could win that they're threatening to delay his swearing-in long enough to allow Paul Kirk, appointed to fill the seat until the election, to be the 60th vote that would avoid a filibuster.

Brown, endorsed by the Tea Party Express, has vowed to be the 41st vote to block the nationalization of health care through a Senate filibuster. Kirk recently told reporters that he would vote for the bill even after Brown won the seat. The will of the voters would be meaningless in his eyes.

When Democrats Bill Owens and John Garamendi won special elections in New York and California congressional districts, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saw to it that they were sworn in immediately. If Brown wins, Democrats will invoke a double standard.

That would be poetic justice.

This guy can actually win this thing.

WHERE THE EF IS THE RNC?

Something needs to be done to push Brown over the top, and it needs to be done yesterday.

They’re so incompetent it might be better for them to stay away and let the conservatives individually support Scott.

If the repubs don’t know what to do for him, it’s better they do nothing, they will just mess things up. really. I mean Michael Steele could open his stupid mouth and say something damaging just as easily as he could say something that might help. Easier to believe he’d damage things, though.

Screw the RNC they are useless as T!Ts on a bull.

IMHO Scott is going to win this.

What do we do.

Get red eyes on the 20th and have a massive protest on the steps of the Senate to get him sworn in?

We need to send a message from us the American people, Sen Reid (you little *****) you cannot deny our voice.

And another reason for it might being better the RNC isn’t involved, and that is Scott wins it by himself and he’s not beholden to the RNC for anything.

More that I think about it the more I DON’T want the RNC anywhere near this. I’ve already sent a donation to the guy, others are too.

I liked the part where he wants JFK style tax cuts. JFK was a Tea Partier compared to Croakley.

I pretty much agree, but they could at least shut up and cough up some CASH in such a pivotal race. The scumbags only have given him a lousy 50 grand last I heard.

The GOP may not have the cash at this point. Meanwhile in Nevada the Tea Partiers have ponied up a million dollars to run an ad against Dingy Harry.

If he wins I’ll bet we see no less than 10 democrats announce retirement before the next election or total retreat on the health care bill.

Donate - we can win this thing and it will shock the libs to their marxist roots!

http://www.redinvadesblue.com/Moneybomb/Donate.html

Friend,

Our movement has done something amazing - we set a goal to raise $500,000 today with our moneybomb and we went by it. We set another goal of $750,000 and we have just surpassed it.

Right now, we are at $836,960.22 and the grassroots demands that we reach $1 Million by midnight tonight.

Tonight, our candidate, Scott Brown, just won the debate against Martha Coakley. We are about to win on January 19th but we need your help right now.

We only have 8 Days Left - will you help us reach the goal of $1 Million by midnight tonight?

Thank you so much for your support and our momentum is growing every day!

Hello Fellow Freepers.

I can assure everyone that Scott Brown is in position to WIN this Race. I have lived in MA all my 44 years and have NEVER seen the overwhelming support this Man has throughout the State. I live in one of the most liberal counties in Mass and the signs are 100:1 in Favor of Brown vs. Martha, it is CRAZY and Amazingly upilfting. The homes that for decades bore Kennedy lawn signs all now say “Brown for US Senate”...
It is a wonderful feeling and one that gives me true hope (the real kind).

Scott Brown ran away with the debate tonight. He stole the show when he rebuked David Gergen who referred to the open seat as “The Kennedy Seat”, to which Scott barked back that “This seat is not The Kennedy Seat, it is the Seat that belongs to the People” (Gergen never recovered from that)..

STOP THE MADNESS IN DC, ELECT SCOTT BROWN FOR US SENATE!
