Of course the dems will delay seating Brown.

And the Republicans will have to delay the health care bill.

The thing about delaying is that both sides can play that game, and both have the procedures to do so.

The dems want the public to think they are in control, when in fact, the people are in control, and they had better start listening to them.

On a side note, a guy on a non-political forum I’m on just posted that he just saw AF1 land at BOS.

I asked if that was where they were setting up the Haitian Relief Command Center.

These are dems we are talking about. When they have power they know how to use it. Republicans can take lessons for when they get the power back in the next few years.

Will Democrats Delay Seating Scott Brown?

Only if they fail to fraudulently take the election away from Brown.

Sorry for my less than appealing post, however I resided in MN November 2008 and know the fraud strength within the liberal machine.

Is there a specific state or Federal law about timely certification of a candidate who has won the seat.

I read on another thread that after the election, Kirk is no longer Senator and no longer able to vote. Is that correct?

Anyone know if Robert Mugabe’s election chief would like some part time work? Sounds like his process might be fairer than the one we’ll see play out.

Got a question for you Mass Dems:

Say Coakley wins on Tuesday.

When do you think you’ll see her *in* Massachusetts, giving a rats ass about the the common mans’ plight in the commonwealth of Massachusetts?

Come to think of it: When do you expect to see her at *all* except on TV from D.C., standing behind Chuckie the Schmuck, at Senatorial Press announcements and attending White House parties?

There are two different issues here.

1) Certification of the election by the Massachusetts SoS. Apparently, there is a legal basis for him doing so under State law

2) Voting by Kirk after 1/19/10. There is some legal background under the U. S. Constitution for denying him a vote after the polls are closed on the 19th

If Reid allows Kirk to vote after the 19th, there will likely by a serious constitutional challenge to any bill that passes as a result.

But Baawwrrney said they would/could never do such a thing. He had a cow, lashing out, erupting into a neurotic hissyfit ...

"That is the stupidest thing I've been asked in a long time. That is insane, the suggestion could only come from a demented right wing source," erupted Representative Barney Frank (D - MA), when asked by The Washington Times about what he thought of assertions that Massachusetts Democrats would stall the certification process should Mr. Brown win. "There isn't the slightest possibility of it happening---a way of doing it. That is conspiracy theory at its most contemptible."

My thinking is that since Mass. was one of the original 1912 signature states of the amendment forcing the people of a state to elect Senators that to delay that vote would in effect be contrary to federal law.

In addition if that delay caused legislation to be approved or denied such as allowing obamacare wouldn't that legislation then become null and void?

I certainly hope the RAT party tries it. Talk about a firestorm come Nov 2010. The guy sitting in the Senate from MA was not elected by “WE THE PEOPLE” (after the RAT party reneged on the change of MA election laws).

Of course they will — they’re liberals. The rules don’t apply to them.

It seems it won’t do them any good. They are already in enough trouble for possibly illegally sitting Obama and the dems in their seats.
