And then assassinated the deposed prime minister just to make sure he didn't come back to power?
Put the shah in power & kept his brutal ass there for near 30 years?
Trained their secret police in the harmless arts of torture & repression?
Assisted Saddam Hussein in his war against them?
Provided Hussein with chemical weapon components that he used extensively against them?
Shot down one of their airliners, killing 300 innocent civilians?
Publicly threatened to attack them, continuously, for the last couple of decades?
Conducted (conducting) covert operations in their country for years?
Providing encouragement and support to Iranians, inside Iran, opposed to their elected gov't?
No, Iran is completely irrational in thinking the US is a threat.
