This guy used his connections to climb his way into positions that any ordinary person would never have gotten into. If he was a jug-eared black guy from Chicago with a Muslim-sounding name, he'd be Barack Hussein Obama.
One little item of interest in his case is that a lot of rank-and-file New York City police officers resented the hell out of him. Here was a former high school dropout named to become the New York City Police Commissioner in 2000 by Rudy Giuliani . . . while at the same time the City was disqualifying prospective police officers for promotion for failing to meet minimum college education requirements.
I’m not defending him at all. I’m just saying that the ‘rat pack smells just as bad but are loved by half the country.
