RICHMOND -- After weeks of indecision, state Del. Morgan Griffith, R-Salem, is lining up support for a likely campaign against Democratic U.S. Rep. Rick Boucher of Abingdon.

Ping!
Whyever would a Congressman from a coal district vote for Cap & Trade, literally pulling the rug out from under his constituents.
Is he a moron? Was he bribed? Both?

he thought he could get away with it
Too bad Griffith does not live in the district. That will hurt.
I would have preferred to see Terry Kilgore go for this, but that didn’t happen.
But I don’t think that Griffith being outside the district is a major problem. Part of his House District is in the 9th Congressional District.
Boucher is vulnerable this year. The first time in a long time. He’s always been more liberal than the people of the district, but they’ve overlooked that because he’s very good with constituent services. That’s why he thought he could get away with Cap and Trade.
I have known the Kilgores and Griffith for many years. I also know the Fighting 9th. Not living in the district will be a hugh problem.
I am series.
He doesn't?
I grew up in the 9th. Worked my first campaign on the first challenger race against Boucher. It’s always been nearly an impossibility to think about beating him. But this year he’s vulnerable.
I don’t think Griffith’s residency is a problem because if the GOP wins this, it will be an anti-incumbent, anti-Boucher mood. That’s the only way the GOP will take back the 9th unless Boucher retires.
Wow, defeating Boucher will be especially sweet for you then since that was your first campaign.
I wish Morgan all the best.

Very series. Griffith's back yard is bounded by the district border.
