This is a man so out of touch with the national mood he has doubled down on a pair of deuces.
By going for the comprehensive, trillion dollar health insurance reform plan, the president has thrown caution, common sense, and perhaps his congressional majorities to the wind so that, he believes, history will treat him kindly for making government run health care a reality.
As this Ruth Marcus piece in the Washington Post points out, it's not Republicans that Obama's health care summit is targeting. It is members of his own party who don't like the idea of being cannon fodder for Obama's war on insurance companies and the "rich:"

And sure enough he is apt to be correct, ... to their own demise.
Exactly. He wants them to go kamikaze. My worry is that some of them, sensing that they will be defeated in November anyway, will do exactly that.
Pass something and it will fade from the headlines. Pass nothing and it will be an albatross around their neck. What you want them to do is validate the old cliche:
“We (republicans) don't really know what we want to do, but we know how to do something. They (democrats) know exactly what they want to do, but they don't know how to do anything.”
OK, now what's the bad part?
Hopefully......they won’t do that....Per the title....
Because we need as many folks on our side as we can get!
No it won't.
It will grow into an out of control monster, just like everything else the federal government touches.
Is that what you want?
Obama, Pelosi, Emmanuel, Axelrod, Jarrett all are of a mind that health care will make it painful on Dems this election cycle but if they tough it out they will be electorally set for 50 yrs or more. Health care is not about health care; it’s about putting legal mechanisms in place to ensure the ‘rats have an unassailable advantage in future election cycles. They see the pain of 2010 as being like in the opening sequence to the old Kung Fu tv show where Caine must pick up the red hot brazier with his bare forearms. It is their right of passage to True Progressivism.
Brilliant analysis..
WAKE UP Mr. Moran. Hussein understands the “national mood.” He just doesn’t CARE!! The radical left is very close to passing a fraudulent “health care” law, the purpose of which is to enslave the American people, not treat their illnesses. It will provide absolute power and control over everything 300 million people say, do, think, believe, eat, drink, drive, purchase or own. And it will allow the left to choose the “date of death” for anyone it considers “disposable” or dangerous to their agenda. Do you actually think Hussein and Co. CARE about the national mood, or the temporary potential loss of the house, senate or both?
He fancies himself the Pied Piper.
We have Tenncare in Tennessee, a form of Romney care and obamadeathcare.
Do some reading, these are articles since Jan of 2010, older articles tell of waste, fraud, illegals, and earlier cuts to curtail rising cost.

Call it coincidence or bad timing, but many physicians in Tennessee began taking a 14 percent cut for seeing TennCare patients on the same day Gov. Phil Bredesen announced deep cuts in health care spending.
