Below is a statement released by Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R., Texas), in response to the charge that he called Rep. Bart Stupak (D., Mich.) a "baby killer" during Sunday night's debate on the health-care bill:
"Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health-care bill that my constituents fear and do not support. In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase “it’s a baby killer” in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership..."
"I have apologized to Mr. Stupak and also apologize to my colleagues for the manner in which I expressed my disappointment about the bill. The House Chamber is a place of decorum and respect. The timing and tone of my comment last night was inappropriate."

He is not apologizing for the truth. He is only apologizing enough to get ahead of the BS. He spoke the truth because he meant to but there are still hoops to jump through!
Who was the guy hollared “You lie!”? He apologized for his handling not for what he said as well.
It is a fine line to walk in getting and keeping the public on board and this guy had the guts to dance right on the edge. I think he deserves kudos rather than crappos.
