BEDFORD, N.H. - When it comes to health care, Mitt Romney is hoping to have it both ways, even as he accuses the White House of doing the same.
In the weeks since President Obama and the Democratic Congress enacted their health care overhaul, Mr. Romney, the once and presumably future candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has confronted an issue that is alternately viewed as a strength and a vulnerability.
As he promotes himself as a problem-solving pragmatist, Mr. Romney can justifiably point to the landmark universal coverage law in Massachusetts that he, as governor, proposed in 2006. But as he appeals to conservative activists and Republican primary voters, he is trying to draw nuanced distinctions between his Massachusetts law and the federal legislation that shares many of its fundamental elements, including a requirement that people have insurance.

Mitt Romney is a classic two faced politician who will say anything for a vote. He should not be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012. We need a real Conservative with core beliefs and values. Not sure who that is yet, but it isn’t Romney.
Mitt Romney is John Edwards or Bill Clinton without the (known) sex addiction. He tries to be all things to all people.
No kidding...He’s making it very clear he’s not what conservatives need in a President...Typical politician!!
Kind of like when he was pro choice and now he’s pro life.
Better watch out; they are going to try and force him as the Republican candidate just like they did McCain.
Also like they did Obama.
Of course, it's not socialism when Myth Romney does it; a pox upon him and may his vain hair fall out.
The biggest difference between him and Kerry is that Mitt thought the Republican party offered him the best chance of achieving his ambition. Had he thought he could his best path to the White House was as a radical Democrat he’d have been one of those. Just like Ol’Kerry’d be preaching about the free market and conservative values if he thought it would take him where he wanted to go.
Romney tripped up about the MA healthcare plan during his interview on FoxNews Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Romney touted not raising taxes to create/pay for his MA Health Care.
Wallace pointed out that he got FED money to create it.
Romney admitted that FED money pays for half of the MA Health Care. That is the reason they didnt have to raise taxes.
Oops.
ANSWER: Hiding, sending out his manipulators,
selling his ghostwritten book,
helping Gore push the fraud of climate change,
(true to form) attacking the "tea party",
and buying votes in the straw polls using money which was given to Scott Brown.
Romneycare will eliminate this panty weight from a future bid .
Mitt Romney has no chance of being the Republican nominee in 2012. But he can certainly interfe with the selection of that candidate. He must be nullified now. Bring out the dirt! Hoist him on his own petard over the Massachusetts disaster that is RomneyCare.
I recall some of the Mittbotts were saying Mitt made the best of a bad situation when he signed the bill - but here is Mitt trying to pretend that a bad situation is a good one (for him). So much for that lame spin.
Be aware that the state run news media will pick someone like him for OUT candidate. Just like they did for McLaim.
The only acceptable position on this is -
Even if turned out to be a great thing (wait for laugh) I would be against it because health care is NOT withing the purview of the Federal Government.
mitt is just a lighter skinned version of obama.
LLS
Classic NYT’s as well.
Whadda Marooon!
Maybe you would be so kind as to point out the errors in the article, then.
