Senator McCain: 'Arizona Is Under Siege' (McCain blames himself, Ronald Reagan)
Fox News ^ | 2010-05-13

Posted on 05/13/2010 11:05:10 AM PDT by rabscuttle385

(snip)

MCCAIN: Look, Arizona is under siege in many respects. We have broken borders. We have people flooding across. We have drug cartels inflicting incredible damage. We have — Phoenix, Arizona is the kidnapping capital of the world, second only to Mexico City.

And the legislature and the governor acted out of frustration because the federal government will not fulfill its responsibilities. I have said for years we have to secure the borders. We have to get the National Guard down there. We have to build a fence which I've said for years. We have to use surveillance and we have to have additional troops down there to start with the National Guard and then 3,000 additional Border Patrol.

(snip)

MCCAIN: And every nation has the obligation to secure its borders. If you don't secure the borders then we're like a hamster in a wheel and people will be keep coming illegally. And finally, I remind you back in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan we gave amnesty to two million people on the proviso we would secure the border.

HANNITY: Hasn't happened.

MCCAIN: We gave the amnesty.

HANNITY: Alright.

MCCAIN: We didn't secure the border.

No, GWB set the stage for what has happened through his inaction and failure to fight evil within the country.

By this point in time I shouldn’t be surprised at the hypocrisy of politicians, but in McCain’s case it is so stunning, I can’t help it.

This is the man who lamented the loss of trust citizens have in government because of the lies politicians tell ... and here he stands, front and center, as the exact reason people don’t believe anything politicians say. He will say ANYTHING now to get another term, even if it blatantly, obviously contradicts his actions over the past 20+ years.

I hope that I am wrong, but I believe AZ primary voters will say “we have done enough to control the border while other states have done nothing; so we can keep our McPain to protect us for six years more.”

I believe the National Guard is no longer under the direct control of the Governor of Arizona. I believe a recent executive order created the Council of Governors and the National Guards of the various states are now controlled by this body.

Now the bastard is wrapping himself in the cloak of Reagan policy, but even so, not until he has tossed it on the ground and stomped some stink and grime into it.

President Reagan (made a mistake and) signed on to the amnesty for illegal aliens, when he was told there was less than one million, and after he had made sure our laws dealing with illegal immigrants had been stengthened to the point that illegal immigration would not have been possible (read that productive to the illegal immigrant) due to them.  Those laws were so sound, that if our immigration service, our cities, our police departments, our legislatures, and our businesses had followed through, we would have almost no illegal immigration today.  The laws were not enforced, and here we are today.  (Enforce the laws you jackass!)

McCain is wrong when he states two million were granted amnesty.  It was actually 3.5 million.  And that is a fantastic object lesson for why we shouldn't do it today.  They claim we have only 12 million in country today (and that's bad enough), but it's more like 20 to 35 million.  What happens when we've given these folks amnesty, and that 12 million is 3.5 times larger than they stated?  Just wait until the Census is published.  We had a 13% Hispanic segment in 2000.  It's my estimation that we have between 20 and 25% today.  By 2035, we're looking at a Hispanc, largely Mexican and former Mexican majority.  And at that time, this nation will be little if any better than the nation those folks fled.

At one million illegal immigrants in 1986, we were looking at a situation where something like 35,000 illegals had been coming across our border per year for decades.  That's a wee bit different than what we have today, 1.5 to 3 million per year (God only knows).

Today we have marxists (democrats), the black activists, the hispaic activists, and a segment of the republican party that supports our nation being taken over by Mexican nationals.

What the hell is that all about?  Well, taking down our system is what it's all about.  These people do not honor our Constitution, our other laws, or the sanctitiy of our nation.  They can't see it taken down fast enough.  And the supidity of this is, it will mostly be southern European ancestors, taking the nation that was built by norther European ancestors.

John McCain, you are such a vile creature.  My guess is that you voted for that 1986 immigration fix.  And if you did, you did it at least in part because you said it would resolve the issue, something you knew it would never do, because you and your cohorts had no intention whatsoever of implementing it fully.

And now you're wrapping yourself in the Reagan (immgration) policy, as if you supported it, or as if anything that took place since adhered to it, or as if the situation we find ourselves in today is even remotely related to the circumstances in which we found ourselve in 1986.  We are in danger of losing our nation today, because the chain immigration that would occur after an amesty today, would swamp this nation in short order.  And if that weren't enough, you have also supported a plan to let upwards of two million Mexican nationals enter our nation legally each year.  How many people would these turn out to be in 25 years John?  Oh yes, upwards of one hundred million or more you ass.

God how you disgust me.  When the day comes, I hope they plant you in Boot Hill.  That day can't come fast enough for your decades long treachery against our nation and it's laws, and there couldn't be a more fitting a place to plant a jackass of your magnitude.

You have been in Washington, D.C, for 28 years (approx), and you have been completely ineffective as it relates to bettering the United States.  You have been extremely successful in lining your own pockets, and short-circuiting sound policy.

“I have said for years we have to secure the borders.”
“We have to build a fence which I’ve said for years.”

Doesn’t this seem a whole lot like “from day one...” from the Obama talking points?

McJuan is now trying to convince the people of Arizona that he has been against illegal immigration “for years.” This would be absolutely laughable, except it is a sitting Senator lying through his D@MN teeth!!!

....in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan we gave amnesty to two million people on the proviso we would secure the border.

I am not a McCainiac at all, but I have often wondered why Reagan did virtually nothing to secure the border after he signed the amnesty bill in 1985. I do believe that Reagan saw the unsecured borders as nothing more than a little nuisence & very minor problem that did not require any further action on HIS part, even though the executive branch had every right & duty to make this a high priority. Given that Reagan was from CA, with untold millions of illegal aliens, I suspect that Reagan gave tacit support to the notion of illegal aliens sneaking into our country and he would not have had the gumption to deport them either. Unfortunately Reagan set the precedent for GHW Bush, Clinton, GW Bush & now the commie usurper pig 0b0z0 to ignore existing laws already on the books to clamp down on illegal aliens pouring into our country & to build a fence & secure the border.

I have zero respect for McCain.

The best thing he ever did was pick Sarah Palin as a running mate and put her in the limelight.

It’s too little too late from him.

McCain, the Rinos, and the dems forgot about those last two components.

But you can see their apologists smearing and misrepresenting what Reagan did to this day, and all too often on FR threads.

How come you didn't do anything before, McPain?

Why'd you try to push amnesty through in 2006?

Why'd you say that Americans wouldn't pick lettuce for $50 an hour?

Why did you and your little buddy Lindsay Grahamnesty smear Americans as racist in 2006 when we opposed your B.S. immigration bill?

Doesn't that make you racist now for opposing illegal immigration? Oh sorry, I forgot, you're a Senator. You can't be racist. You're good buddies with KKK Byrd, right?

See what a hole you've dug yourself into, McPain?
