Police Arrest Trio Wanted In Pueblo Break-In; Homeowner Kills Intruder.
Lakewood police caught three fugitives from a deadly Pueblo home invasion sleeping and arrested them without incident early Thursday.
Members of Lakewood Special Enforcement Team arrested brothers Carlos Manzanares, 41, and Shane Manzanares, 28, along with Natasha Villalobos...
The trio was wanted on a warrant for first-degree burglary in a Tuesday morning Pueblo home-invasion robbery. The homeowner, 31-year-old Christopher Maes, shot and killed one of the masked suspects...
Pueblo police have not arrested or charged the homeowner in the shooting, saying Maes' 6-year-old daughter and four other family members were home when the robbers broke in.
The two wanted brothers are younger siblings of Duane Manzanares, who is serving a life sentence for murdering his estranged wife and ...

Another Ahmish home invasion it seems.
Another Amish home invasion it should be.
Sounds like a nice family ( the perps ).

Wonder if she was a decoy also.
Shane Manzanares

Anchor babies, note the first names of the 2 younger ones.
I have more bear concerns here than home invasion in rural Colorado, but prepare for both. Have switched the HD 12ga over from winter load of all 3-inch 00-buck to first 2 rounds being slugs. But I had a home invasion about 25 years ago when I lived in FL. I heard noises outside and saw a creepy, tattooed, skinhead person acting strangely outside. I went to the BR and got my then nightstand gun, a Charter Arms 44SPL just as the creep busted in the front door. He turned and ran just as the DA trigger pull seemed it would fire and he was charging me and only about 3 feet away. I think he was really doped up because he did not seem to realize I had a gun until the barrel was almost touching his nose. I have always worried if others have been harmed because I did not shoot before he turned and ran.
I’ll stick to my small town, don’t even lock the doors.
Ancestors took care of all the bears.
I now live in a very small town. Unincorporated and nearest traffic light is 10 miles away. But, the last few years have seen a huge increase in graffiti tagging on the rocks along the road. So the Denver gangs seem to be looking to expand their territory. I plan to resist.
About the same as here with respect to the lights. LOL
The only bangers we get here are ones running from the cops in the city and trying to be low profile. A few local wanna-bes, but they just like to ride around thumping.
Remember : William Burkhart eludes a posse for 34 days in Park County ?
Why would they? Unfair competition?
He only got one of them ...
Ah, yes, the CO “you’re not fast enough on the draw” law. lol
The article made it sound like the only reason he wasn’t charged was because there were other family members in the home, that he may have been more suspect if he had been home alone.
I wouldn’t count on them being anchor babies. In that region of the US, the hispanic to white population is about 50-50. Pueblo may have a higher % hispanic population than other regions. Generational, I should say. It has been that way my whole life... and once you get further south, Trinidad, Raton, much more dense hispanic populations.
The reason I say anchor baby is the First names. Note that the older brother has a traditional hispanic name and the younger brother is named Shane.
I have to caution you against using that as an indicator, in this region of the country. My ex inlaws had a mix of names for the kids. And they had been in New Mexico longer than my family had, many generations.
