Police say a South African man who wanted to watch a World Cup match instead of a religious program was beaten to death by his family in the northeastern part of the country. David Makoeya, a 61-year-old man from the small village of Makweya, Limpopo province, fought with his wife and two children for the remote control on Sunday because he wanted to watch Germany play Australia in the World Cup. The others, however, wanted to watch a gospel show.

But he was watching a religious program.

Just depends upon which religion.

I’d hope someone would put me out of my misery if I were watching soccer.

I would rather have hot needles stuck in my eyes and under my finger nails than watch or even hear about soccer. This is part of the communist/socailist agenda to wussify America and at the time they introduced it, along with the easier metric system no one ever thought it would catch on. At least the metric systme fell by the wayside...

I say bring back kick ball and slaughter ball to our school yards and gyms. No one would ever want to play soccer again

After the first half of the game against Slovenia, I’ll bet there are a few USA soccer fans who are ready to do themselves in.

You mean MLB is Deadly boring right?

4+ hour games. 1 to 2 minutes between pitches. What major sport has more fat players? They even have a position for old broken down players called the DH.

I nearly fell asleep describing it.

After the first half of the Celtics-Lakers game 7, there were a few basketball fans who were ready to do themselves in.
