She is unelectable for the office of the President. A majority of people will not vote for her.

This article raises a good point. Remember the interlopers from (?Massachusetts and Maine?) who voted for John McCain in New Hampshire and Vermont to cast him as the frontrunner for Republican Cand. in 2008? This might well be a redux of that.

Rather amazing to see “establishment” types trying to lure her into the RNC job. She know she can do more where she is, not at the head of the RNC. These same idiots need to have a sit-down with Steele to set him straight.

I like her alright but president? Mainstream lamos would never allow it. They have soiled her enough already.

It’s just another reason to get her into the limelight to slap her down. She’s better off doing just what she’s doing now.

Palin would be much better suited to run the RNC than to be POTUS/CinC. The notion that we haven't learned yet (via Obama) that people who are not ready , who do not have the leadership capabilities and all that such a commanding position as POTUS/CinC demands.....should not be in that position (regardless of their politics). Mrs. Plain could do very well as RNC chair. She is not ready to be POTUS/CinC.

She would be a good replacement for Steele since she is not electable for President. Steele must GO!

"Those promoting Sarah Palin as RNC chair may not have good motives"

I agree. They have decided this would be a good way to neutralize her influence. I sure hope she doesn't fall for it.

Good grief, Democrats etc. voted for a guy 1) they knew nothing about, 2) isn’t a Natural Born Citizen, and 3) is a corrupt Chicago thug.

And you think PALIN is unelectable???

Well one thing is for sure, Obama sure changed the standard of “electability”.

She resigned the Governorship to shake free from the bonds of "good'ol boyism" and be free to get the word out to Conservatives.

As for her qualifications, as one poster on this thread cast aspersions too, she is light years ahead of obama in experience, she has been a Governor - just like Romney and Huckleberry...but I guess the poster think a male governor is more "experienced" than a female one.

The left is NOT afraid of Mitt, or Huck, or any of the other so-called "possibles"...but they are scared to death of Palin.

Anyone who garners as much vitreol from the left as Palin does, casts a big shadow in the political world. The left would not be trying so hard to knock her out of the race, if they were not shaking in their boots.

They've tried ridicule, attacking her marriage, her kids, her husband, and anything else they could dig up. Armies of lefty reporters descended upon Wasilla and other parts of Alaska to dig up dirt...none found. They filed dozens of frivilous lawsuits...all dismissed.

I don't think there is a GOP candidate that has AS MUCH experience and leadership as Sarah Palin. The good'ol boys in the GOP and the RINO's bristle at the thought of being outed by "a girl". Shows you what our party has been reduced to...the libs have made pure wimps out of them.

The Women conservatives out there are doing a great job, i.e. Jan Brewer, Michelle Bachman, Liz Cheney, etc. The "I wunna be da prezident" boys like Mitt and Huck see a Palin vote as a vote "wasted", i.e. a vote THEY won't get.

I have a better idea. Probably could make a good run at the job if he wanted to, but for health reasons, probably won’t. I mean, of course...

“I”d like to remind Chairman Steele that they actually do come that big in white.”

That’s your opinion. I think she would be great as RNC chair as she would make a great President. However she isn’t running for President nor will she be running for President. There is zero indication she will run. Therefore she would do well as RNC chair.

Palin is quite busy building a fortune. She is absolute gold. She is a king maker without having the baggage of any party.

Personally think it would be Ok if she ran RNC for next 6 to 12 months. She would set the standard, and pick her successor. She would have indisputable GOP credentials. She could move into her final Presidential campaign mode.
It might work, but I'm sure she will do what is best for her objectives.

Stay alert to the possibility, people who pile on this way, may not have good motives.

Just saying...

Seems a lot like the Mittens are rearing their carefully-groomed heads once again.

Sarah Palin would be a great advocate for the small government side of the GOP; she is working in an advocacy role for conservatism right now, somewhat as a freelancer.

Conversely, Steele represents some of the worst aspects of the GOP's go-along-to-get-along defeatist attitude. He has a track record as RNC chair of not improving the party's position (gaffes in media appearances, using his position for personal financial gain, and other questionable decisions such as the party's convention location selection) Frankly, I don't consider him a good spokesperson for conservatism, nor do I consider him a good advocate for republican victory anywhere. He does not inspire.

If the GOP will cease to be the party of "nice guys who finish last", he would be turned out in favor of a more appropriate leader in a heartbeat. Sarah is one of those possible candidates, but not a silver bullet or the only candidate by a mile.

The only reason to keep Steele is exactly why the GOP is in the position it is in right now. "Well, he can be voted out in January when he comes up for reelection to the chairmanship. If my calendar is correct, is after the November elections, which if they go well will bolster his position for reelection and if they aren't a landslide victory for conservatism, will fail to serve the greater purpose of restoring both adherence to the constitution and the public's faith in government.

The goal is for conservatives who believe in the constitutional limits of government and the rule of law to win, win big, and keep winning every single election. Maybe Sarah Palin wouldn't be the best advocate for that position (though I think she would do a fine job), but does anyone serionsly believe that Steele can inspire others toward that end?

She’d be a fine chairman. But let’s be honest. To the extent these people are suggesting her for the job because they think any of the other guys are that much better of a presidential nominee, they’re mostly, if not entirely, kidding themselves.

A leader - not a teleprompter reader!

Sarah Palin

Exclusively Represented by the Washington Speakers Bureau

Sarah Palin first made history on December 4, 2006 when she was sworn in as the first female governor of Alaska. In August 2008, Senator John McCain tapped Palin to serve as his vice-presidential running mate in his presidential campaign, making her the first woman to run on the Republican Party's presidential ticket.

In Alaska, her top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government, resource development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development. Palin fought for ethics reform and transparency in government.

Palin has a long record of achievement and experience in public office. Prior to her election as Governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council and two terms as the mayor of Wasilla. During her tenure, she reduced property tax levels while increasing services and made Wasilla a business-friendly environment, drawing in new industry.

Under her leadership as Governor, Alaska invested $5 billion in state savings, overhauled education funding and protected Alaska's natural resources. She created Alaska's Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities and infrastructure and the Climate Change Subcabinet to prepare a climate change strategy for Alaska.

During Governor Palin's first year in office, three of her administration's major proposed pieces of legislation passed—an overhaul of the state's ethics laws, a competitive process to construct a natural gas pipeline and a restructuring of Alaska's oil valuation formula.

Palin is past chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multistate government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She also served as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which was charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.

Sarah Heath Palin arrived in Alaska with her family in 1964, when her parents came to teach school in Skagway. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications- Journalism from the University of Idaho in 1987.

She is married to Todd Palin, who is a lifelong Alaskan, worked as a production operator on the North Slope and a four-time champion of the Iron Dog, the world's longest snowmachine race. They have five children.

She is the author of Going Rogue: An American Life which is scheduled for release in November of 2009.

Re-elect President Palin in 2016!
Has a nice ring to it - doesn't it?

There are bigger and better opportunities for Palin ahead for her. And she is everything the RNC is not, so I doubt she would even be in contention for Steele’s job.

That being said, I do hope whatever happens with Steele happens very quickly so we can get this behind us as we go into the election campaign months.
