Tea party group expels leader for ‘clearly offensive’ blog post
Yahoo News ^ | 7/18/10 | Andrew Golis

Mark Williams, the tea party leader who wrote a blog post this week calling the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) racist, has been "expelled" from the National Tea Party Federation.

Williams wrote the blog post on Thursday in response to the NAACP's Tuesday declaration accusing the tea party movement of tolerating racist elements in its midst (see The Upshot's rundown on the week of attacks and counterattacks here). It was written as an imaginary letter to President Abraham Lincoln and accused the NAACP of being racist for using the word "colored" in its name. When some reacted to it in outrage, Williams deleted it from his website, declaring it time to "move forward."

The National Tea Party Federation apparently decided to move forward without Williams. Spokesman David Webb said on Face the Nation this morning that Williams and his Tea Party Express had been pushed out because Williams' posting was "clearly offensive."

Clearly it was a stupid thing to post, but am I the only one thinking the timing was a little too convenient. In typical MSM fashon, nothing said about the Black Panthers or the racists in the NAACP, now it'll be all about this idiot.

No you’re not. This crap is all planned, and that is not a conspiracy theory. They (MSM and Leftists) talk and party together all the time. Don’t think for a second they don’t discuss such actions.

Frankly I think the whole resolution came about because the voter intimidation case was making a bee line for the oval office.

The National Tea Party Federation just started 3 months ago. Who made them God to tell the Tea Party Express what they can and cannot do?

Looks like the NTPF could hardly wait to get on the Sunday morning news shows to crap all over tea partiers.

Who slipped cat fight serum into the tea? The Tea Parties have got to learn how not to get played like a fiddle.

Mark Williams needs to ask under what authority this supposed National Tea Party Federation is making decisions?

That I can recall no one owns the right to mandate or speak for the Tea Parties.

The NAACP is racist. It's in their title. Is that not obvious to people?

The Tea Party Express does not recognize the National Tea Party Federation.

The Tea Party movement is not represented by the NTPF.

The tea party is not another political party. It is a group of like-minded individuals who have similar goals, ideals and objectives.
It’s a movement that calls for changes - smaller limited government, drastically reduced gov’t. spending, less taxes, a secure border, state’s rights, strong national defense. We want our basic freedoms and liberties protected including gun ownership, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and protection of our property rights.

We are comprised of persons from all political venues, from all parts of the country, from all races and genders, all ages with the above issues special to our hearts foremost in our minds as we start the process of cleaning house.

Cleaning house the likes of which has never been seen. On both sides of the aisle. We don’t have the time or the desire to fight amongst ourselves. Our focus should be laser sharp and pointed at any element in any area of government that does not represent the Constitution or the freedom of American people

Either the libs don’t understand this, or they do understand it and are trying to shove us into a round hole in order to demonize the movement. It’s hard to do that to a faceless group of people.

I have been to every tea party march in DC. I have never heard of the National Tea Party Federation. They certainly do not speak for me. Here is a good rule if thumb. If a tea party organization has the word “Nationa” in its title, steer clear.

Since when is there a TEA PARTY organization?????

THERE IS NOT, at least not an official one speaking for all the individuals all over America who go to the Rallies.

WE have NO leaders, only EVENT PLANNERS.

This is a set up, and I suspected from the beginning that this would happen. Some high and mighty RINO who wants 15 mins of fame who wants to grab hold of this movement and pretend to run as our candidate, who never had a conservative bone in their body before , or those Liberal Marxists planted among us, to discredit and destroy us as a movement.

But, since when does the Liberal Media care about True Facts?

I have no idea who the “National Tea Party Federation” are so I am going to assume it’s operatives or a bunch of RINOs looking for my money. They do not represent me and can feel free to go pound their own sand.

Yes, like all good conservatives they eat their own. This really seems like a non issue to me, but the MSM will make hay of it. Would be nice to have an honest media who did not take sides (and almost all on the same side).
