Dad was not vain, but the local ER did such a hack job, he carried scars for quite sometime after. On the way out, he told them he did better work on a horse.
I predict that veterinarians will be picking up a lot of slack as millions more entitlement cases are dumped on an already overloaded system. Their training is as rigorous as most MDs and their ability to innovate is much less restrained by the threat of lawsuits.
When Jimmy Carter was president, Dad used to joke that some veterinarian must have grafted a horse's ass where his brain belonged.
Bbbwwwaaahhhh! I would have loved to see the look on their faces!
My old vet when my dog was alive was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to see him for my medical care if I had to, I think he is 10x more competent then my regular doctor.
You know, someone brought this point up to me some years ago and I agree. I think that, based on my experience with MDs (and vets), veterinarians are actually better trained than a lot of MDs. Doctors who treat humans have to learn only about the human anatomy, nervous system, etc. whereas vets have to be knowledgeable about a whole spectrum of unique systems.
My ex claimed when he was a young boy living on the farm he fell and cut his chin badly on a milking bucket. His father, having little money, took hog rings and closed the wound. From the look of his scar I believed it. The ex always claimed that particular “abuse” was what caused him to be so mean, thusly becoming an ex. I don’t know if I believe that excuse, though.
