CBS 5 Poll: Fiorina Widens Lead Over Boxer (Fiorina 47%, Boxer 42%)
CBS-5 San Francisco ^ | 8-12-10 | Staff

Posted on 08/12/2010 12:48:04 PM PDT by TitansAFC

California Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has increased her lead over Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer to five percentage points according to a new CBS 5 KPIX-TV poll released Thursday, which also shows gubernatorial candidates Democrat Jerry Brown and Republican Meg Whitman in a dead heat.

The CBS 5 poll, conducted by the research firm SurveyUSA, showed Fiorina edging Boxer 47 percent to 42 percent, compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago showing Fiorina over Boxer 47 to 45 percent.

The poll results indicated Fiorina's support was essentially unchanged among men and women, young and old, white and Hispanic while Boxer had lost small ground among men, younger voters, and independents.

They DO cheat. They have found ballot boxes floating in San Francisco bay.

I know I am biased by conservatism but I swear to you, just from reading the news alone, 90% of voter fraud cases caught seem to be Democrat fraud and only 10% is Republican fraud.

“Boxer is as dirty as they come. Every election there is an “October Surprise”, but this time Boxer is going to empty her bag of dirty tricks.”

Yes you are right! She also is very effective at telling the electorate that she is the middle of the road candidate and that her opponet is a wild eyed, right wing extremist that wants to hand out machine guns to anyone on the street!
Believe it or not, that has gotten her elected 3 times! Carly should be able to take that tactic and put it where it rightfully belongs Up Boxes @ss......

I like the Pub's pick for Pa. senate too. Pat Toomey is far more business oriented than political oriented. He's a former congressman who left to take on Specter six years ago against the express wishes of the party.

He had been planning to run for governor rather than senator but Specter ticked him off again so he switched plans. Specter's bolt to the Dems was in response to Toomey's announcement to run against him.

Rachel I smell it too, yes Boenher that nimrod tipped his hand, I am smelling 100 too and I predicted 94' almost to a tee. My guess we are 52 in the Senate, and that is without me really reseaching it.

True story.

Couple of local conservatives ran in my district in MI. They won, they are rib-rocked tea party types going to the state house and senate.

One of my buds ran into one of their Dem challengers @ his mom's house which had one of the rib-rock signs in her yard :-) .

He had a pleasant chat with her and asked her, her chances, she isn't a loon, a rather nice lady and she said this : I did what I thought was right, but frankly this is a title wave, and I don't think I am gonna make it.

They know.....

“Sadly the better of the two is the one who is one of the worst executives in the history of American bussiness.”

Carly was undoubtedly the most unpopular CEO in HPs history. Not unexpected given HP’s ultra Liberal Corporate Culture. Taking the moribound HP from its sinking position the IT World and positioning it to be the US leader is hardly the stuff of how did you put it? “....the worst executatives in the history of American Business.”

You should note that there has been no change from the path that Carly put HP on....as you would expect later CEOs to do....

Can I suggest that you cease posting Dem talking points?

Thanks.

Mostly we have only talked about the Senate 8-12 seats.

But in the House, we will see MANY stories with our very own “Alvin Green’s”, I predict at least a DOZEN total out of the blue UPSETS where an under funded place holder Rep polling 40 to 60 the day before the election, beats the sure winner Dem by 115 votes and SHOCKS the world, when the public that was NOT polled and usually does NOT vote, just shows up and votes anti-Obama out of the deep blue sleep.

I know that some people on here are party plants whose job it is to pump up any RINO in need of help but you can’t honestly buy a single word of what you just typed.

She was a failure. The Compaq deal was an absolute disaster for the company as was the proxy fight. The stock value of the company took a major fall. Profits fell under her reign. Twenty thousand in the US were fired and others had their pay cut. They paid her $20 million dollars just to leave. Her downfall was not due to a plot from a liberal corporate culture. It was due to failure in the marketplace. She was a disaster and no amount of spin can change that.

Not trying to rain on anybody’s parade.....

You, and nobody else it seems, is taking into consideration two factors that gave Obama and the Dems their huge sweep in 2008 and is in place this election cycle.

1. Secretary of State Project
2. Monies funneled to “ACORN” and Unions

Rossi lost an election he won, while Fraken was promoted from horses ass to Senator Horses Ass all with the help of state Secretary of States moved into office by the Soros-backed SOSP.

As long as the SOS position is owned by the left; and it will be as long as voters do no research or even care who is elected SOS, they will recount until the Dem wins. Election shenanigans are killing us. We can’t have close races, we need substantial wins.

Almost a billion dollars is unaccounted for under Obama’s leadership. Combine that money with public transfers of wealth to unions, ACORN and other groups in legislation we know about. In 2008 people were willing to sell their votes for cigarettes, imagine what a billion dollars entering into our elections can do. We already know, we got Obama.

Your enthusiasm is commendable but unrealistic as long as the left counts the votes. Have you wondered why the Democrats are not fighting harder to keep their seats?

That is not rain. And you are right. The left WILL CHEAT LIKE HELL this election. It will not be enough. 100+ swing. DOUBLE 1994. Bigger than 1860 when ALL the Dems just QUIT to form their own Country.

HUGE!

‘conservatives banking on her to be a conservative, especially after her record of failure professionally are dilluding themselves.’

Assuming you are correct about the ‘failures’ that made her a multi millionaire, what does that have to do with how she will vote?

Excellent analysis of the Senate prospects. 2012 and 2014 are the years we can take complete control of the Senate.

Yes, destroying the wealth of countless shareholders and padding your own pockets in the process makes you a success.

Mark my words, this woman is no conservative, you can delude yourself into believing otherwise, but when the day comes that she shows her true colors, just remember, you have been warned.

“I know that some people on here are party plants whose job it is to pump up any RINO in need of help but you can’t honestly buy a single word of what you just typed.”

You know? Really! Read the article provided in the link below:

http://www.answers.com/topic/carly-fiorina

As the article states the reviews of Fiorina’s tenure at HP are mixed. Some things she did worked, some did not. I see that you’ve quoted a blogger with a negative viewpoint in your post.....good on you Mr Gloom!

The take on her time at HP is mostly in the eye of the beholder. Long term her ideas worked, whether she was there to enjoy that or not. You’ll remember that Fiorina led HP through the tumultuous years after the IT bubble burst. HP survived to remain a viable IT company.

As I stated in my post and you can see by reading the article, Fiorina remade the Corporate culture at HP. That culture no longer exists. It died kicking and screaming as it was dragged into the 21st Century.

.....pump up RINO’s?????

There is scant evidence that Fiorina is a so-called RINO. She may turn out to be more Moderate than Conservative, or she may not. At this point anything you say can only be characterized as biased opinion/speculation. No matter how she votes in the Senate she will be a 1000% better than Boxer, and there is no denying that. The whole point of the 2010 election is to FIRE Boxer. I’m sorry you cannot see this simple truth, and instead spend your time speculating about the motivations of others who you do not know.

RINO?....The use of the term is pejorative at best, and meant to stiffle discussion and undercut support of the Republican Candidate for US Senator from the state of California. What’s your Agenda except to undercut the Republican Candidate’s bid? I’m sure you think that that is the”Conservative” thing to do......baloney.

I see no useful reason to denigrate Fiorina now that the field for the General Election is set. Whether you agree or disagree about Fiorina’s performance at HP, I dare say she has out performed anything either you or I will ever do, never mind what the sitting Senator Barbara Boxer has or can do.

The simple fact is that Boxer needs to go for not only the sake of California, but also the sake of the nation.....

Whine all you want about Fiorina, I’ll reserve judgement until after she takes office and has had time to build up a voting record. 2016 is not that far away.

On Florida threads we have some folks supporting a candidate for governor, acknowledging that he likely defrauded Medicare out of billions of dollars. To each their own, I guess.

A rino is better than a progressive liberal. They stole our country over a period of decades. We may have to take what we can get at first. Then we begin electing conservatives in primaries to beat the rinos. We CANNOT let these progressive pinkos keep winning. They all MUST go.
