RALEIGH, N.C. - Piqued by their national political momentum, Republicans seeking to regain control of the U.S. House have expanded their focus in North Carolina to target at least three congressional seats held by Democrats.
The movement, backed by large advertising buys, marks a new expansion into districts that Democrats handily won just two years ago. A pro-business group allied with the GOP will begin airing ads this week in an effort to bring down North Carolina Reps. Larry Kissell, Bob Etheridge and Heath Shuler.

Larry Kissell vs Harold Johnson (NC-8)
Heath Shuler vs Jeff Miller (NC-11)
Mike McIntyre vs Ilario Pantano (NC-7)
Plus:
Bobby Etheridge vs Renee Ellmers (NC-2)
David Price vs B.J. Lawson (NC-4)
Sack Shuler - a crappy QB and a crappy Dem.
David Price sat through the entire Duke lacrosse frame-up attempt (sometimes justly called “Scottsboro II”) and never said a word.
It was left for another NC Congressman, Jones, to rightly ask for a federal investigation of Nifong (which, alas, never took place).
I don’t have the video to prove it, but I’ll betcha that he was one of those traitors who stood and applauded the president of mehico when he ‘addressed’ Congress.
‘Republican’ isn;t good enough.
Are they Tea party?
Shuler voted cap and trade
I have no idea what that means.
Miller, Johnson, and Pantano are conservative. All three are from non-political backgrounds, all three have tea party support to varying degrees, and all three are friendly with the establishment. Lawson is more of a libertarian (IIRC). Ellmers is more of an unknown -- well, maybe someone knows, but I don't.
Since the retirement of Jesse Helms, NC has become a lost cause. I wouldn’t put much hope in those Tar-Heels any more but I thank them for electing Helms five times.
Better. But Burr will win by a margin greater than any NC Senator since .... 1974?
Nate Silver gave NC-4 a 45% chance of flipping, which tells me that he must weigh race heavily. If that district flips, then every majority-white district is in play.
I think he’s using the one poll released in that race. I’m not a particular fan of his modeling.
RealClearPolitics averages list the following for the NC seats in play.
NC2 - Leans Dem
NC4 - Likely Dem (this was Safe Dem a few weeks ago)
NC7 - Leans Dem (was likely Dem a few weeks ago)
NC8 - Leans GOP
NC11 - tossup
Lots of work to do in all of those races, though. If the election were today, we could lose all five. NC has been relatively slow to develop.
It's all about execution between now and election day, consistent messaging, and enough resources. I'd be ecstatic taking even two of them, but three is doable and the other two are worth watching.
Here is Miller’s response to the latest Shuler attack ads.
Wow, he let Shuler have it. Good chance this will open some peoples’ eyes to what Shuler’s been up to.
These are my my district senators.
North Carolina Senate: Burr (R) 54%, Marshall (D) 38%
During Obamacare debates I wrote Burr and he said he would vote FOR ObamaCare. As far as I know he voted for all of the Obama garbage.
There is a third party Libertarian Mike Beitler losing in the polls against these two so bad they don’t even list him BUT he will be on the ballot.
If I would have known this I would have ran as A Tea Party Candidate as Burr is a RINO.His local commercials on TV make me sick he does not mention voting with the democrats he says he is a conservative,
The democrats are done in NC this election as best we can but WHY was there not a Tea Party Candidate in the primary to beat Burr?
Here is Beitler’s Commercial. Who according to all polls has ZERO chance.

Marshall needs to lose and he will but locals know Burr is a fake RINO.
