U.S. Rep. Peters trails in latest tracking poll

Republican challenger Rocky Raczkowski has the lead over first-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Gary Peters in the 9th congressional district, an independent weekly tracking poll released Wednesday indicates.

The automated poll conducted Sept. 13 of 300 likely voters in the 9th congressional district and 400 likely voters statewide has Raczkowski at 45 percent and Peters at 40.7 percent with 10.3 percent undecided.

The poll was conducted by The Rossman Group in partnership with Team TelCom.

Kelly Rossman, CEO and founder of the Lansing-based Rossman Group, says Raczkowski is benefiting from the sour mood of voters towards Congress.

"It's no secret that Democrats have been gaining ground in Oakland County over the past decade," Rossman said. "But Congressman Peters has some work to do if he wants to make sure the anti-incumbent mood sweeping the country doesn't sweep him out of office after just one term."

This is another pick-up opportunity and the first poll I've seen released in this race. Rocky Raczkowski is a dark horse candidate against a lapdog in Gary Peters. Rocky does not have a lot of money, but has a chance to win anyway. He needs help, but he can win. We can pick up three seats in Michigan. Tim Walberg, Rocky Raczkowski, and Dan Benishek.

Run against Carl Lenin? I mean, Levin?

I'm glad Rocky got this nomination after fighting the good fight in the 2002 Senate race.

His first name’s Andrew. He’s always gone by Rocky. He served three terms as a state representative, lost against Carl Levin as everybody does, and then was called up by the reserves to serve his country in Somalia and I believe Afghanistan.

That means three very strong conservatives.

Rocky for Congress

Walberg for Congress

Benishek for Congress

I think its pretty clear that we’re going to tip GOP this time. How much is the real question. Today we have 7 GOP held house seats and 8 democrat held house seats.

One seat is likely, two is easy, three is entirely doable, and four would be awesome.

Surely he is using Bill Conti’s masterpiece as his campaign theme song, right???

Gary Peters is just another dickhead who voted for Obamacare, but of course he doesn’t have to take the plan. I want to see every single ‘yes’ vote lose their jobs ASAP. Traitors to the country, and to the Constitution.

This could be huge. I did not think Rocky had a chance. But he is coming through. Yes, Peters is a Dick. LOL

Comb over Karl will be up in two years. We need a strong candidate. Maybe Mike Rogers.

Debbie has lost 60 Lbs. Maybe she is getting ready for a private sector job. (she lives a mile from me) Lets see; no law degree, not bright enough to be a lobbyist, no private sector experience. Well she can get 20K on unemployment.

Lets take back our state.

Colorado could pick up 3: Gardner knocking off Betsy Markey, Tipton over John Salazar and Ryan Frazier over Ed Perlmutter (making the GOP 5 out of 7 seats instead of 2 out of 7).

And Buck can only lose by beating himself.

Michigan is one of the few states where the Baraqqi connection might still help pull a few votes.

I know he’s totally toxic in Ohio - I read Kasich is leading by double digits over incumbent Strickland for gov.

Sounds like she's angling for a Nutri-system gig.
