With ALL forms of Marxism, you get the state sponsored and sold perception of benevolence for all at the price of unspeakable tyranny.

Many in Asia would like to see the Japanese be more open and contrite about the horrors committed by its military in World War II. I must say I agree with them.

But Japan today is NOT an imperialist, now, and its government is NOT a dictatorship with its eyes on throwing its weight around, particularly with its neighbors in Asia - but China IS all those things, today.

So, maybe the Japanese could offer to be more open and contrite on World War II history, on the provision that the Chinese communists publicly detail the “crimes against humanity” of their own leaders.

I think, if the Japanese proposed that, the world might be surprised to see how many in Asia would join it in supporting that proposition.

I am unsure why there is this popular fetish for national self-flagillation, with 0bama going around apologizing for the USA everywhere - and damned if I want Japan to do anything of the sort.

But teaching real history would be a good start, you know, just so that they would know. No reason to feel bad, it was just a crazy time, and some nations just went a bit crazier than others.

The winner is Mohammad. He turned murder into a religion and his mind plague is over a billion strong 14 centuries later. Hard to calculate but I’ve seen estimates up to 140 million.

That may be true, if one is referring to the major players in World War II, but what Mao and Stalin did against their own people is a different matter, and of a different order of magnitude.

My only point about Japan was that many in Asia would have liked, and would still like Japan to be more like Germany, in dealing more openly and honestly about its WWII actions; but, if those same Asian nations are just as concerned about the future, they need a China that can do the same thing about its own dictators.
