Forget fingerprints or the colour of your eyes, airport security could soon be looking at the shape of your ears when deciding whether to allow you into the country
Researchers have discovered that each person's ears have a unique shape and have created a system that is able to scan them. The scans can then be compared with a database of ear shapes to identify whose they are.

Yes, lots of photos of the President’s ears forthcoming?
On a serious note, won’t it be easy to have ears fixed by plastic surgeons?

I guess I’m just going to have to buy a pair of “Spock Ears” to wear whenever I fly...

The brits are really pushing the envelope on nanny-ness with their obsession with surveillance.
Orwell sure knew what he was talking about, all those years ago.
Thing is, they do it with manners. When any other nation starts doing, it will be about as tactful as a gang rape. Thinking of TSA stories in that regard...

I'm wondering if that is based on both ears, or one ear. I know several people who have "mis-matched" ears. One of my cousins has a "detached" earlobe on one side, and an "attached" earlobe on the other.
Ryan Stiles (Whose line is it anyway & the Drew Carey Show) has mismatched earlobes.
Just wondering...but then, such a phenomenon would make a person even easier to identify...what are the odds?

...wont it be easy to have ears fixed by plastic surgeons? Perhaps, but then the other biometric data might not match the new ears.

Another multi-million dollar system that can be fooled by simply growing your hair out.

I was expecting to already see some examples of "The One"...
However, in 19th century France...there was the Bertillon system that took measurements of facial features for criminal identification, but fingerprints became the accepted system. The management of facial features posed a bit of a problem for pre-computer filing...

I'm a frequent flier...Pittsburgh to Atlanta, GA. and they will never get to scan my ears!!!
I have a cochlear implant..on my last trip I requested TSA hand inspect my carry on and not ex ray, as it contained all my supplies for my implant!!! you would have though I asked for a FREE trip ticket!!! I do always carry my physician card, any I've never yet had the experience of being checked by a kind, nice human at TSA, especially at Hatfield Atlanta...the worst!!!!
