Dear Senator, Representative, Committee Chair or anyone else to whom this should come, Greetings,
On December 1, 2010 the Chairman of the FCC declared he had the authority to bypass Congress and regulate the Internet. I hope you will read the story below about this issue as it will give you most of the background. Here is the URL:

Let me be perfectly clear about what is happening here! The FCC announced today that they are going to go around Congress to bring about this so called Network (Net) Neutrality. Congress has not shown any interest in imposing this loss of freedom, this socialistic regulation scheme, on the American People. The Courts have declared this same socialistic scheme to be un-Constitutional. Poll after poll show that the American People do not want anything to do with it. Yet, the head of the FCC has declared that he has the authority to go ahead and impose this on all of us! Who the hell do these people think they are? The FCC gets its power from the Congress of the United States. Where does a Department Head, or any other public servant in the US Government, get the idea that he can go ahead and impose socialistic anything upon the American People?. What Arrogance! We must wake up! We must demand the return of our Republic! We must do it now.
This reminds me of the narcissistic self-professed first citizen of Rome. He professed to be a simple citizen, claiming the title not of Caesar but of princep, or first citizen; but he would rather be the ruler of men and enslave his fellow citizens. His name was Octavian. He was the adopted son of Caesar. When Caesar died, Octavian kept the Assembly and Senate in place. The people still elected their representatives; the Senate still were overseers of the provinces. He kept all the appearances of the Republic. But something had changed. Octavian gave the people what they wanted and what Octavian thought they should have. He pulled strings behind the scenes and used bullying tactics to get his agenda. He made himself an Emperor and his fellow citizens his subjects. Octavian took control and took away their freedom from the citizens of Rome. There was no battle, no force, no vote, no uprising. He made the Senate (the representatives of the people) into buffoons and went around them to get what he wanted. One textbook put it this way: “By maintaining the facade of the Republic, Octavian camouflaged his absolute power. His control over the Armed Forces made resistance futile.”
That is what is taking place in the Obama administration today. Health Care could only be passed by way-out, far fetched, insane manipulation of the rules common in Congress. This legislation was opposed by seventy percent of the American people. Obama keeps pushing his far left agenda even though the last election rejected his agenda. Now Obama is using executive policy making to go completely around Congress. Enough is enough. It is time for Congress to stand up and put a stop to this. Without oversight and the power of Congress to reign in the policy makers in this government then we are all living in a state of enslavement right now!
I am writing to gain your support. If you are not involved in the Federal Government, I am asking you to contact your Senators and Representatives. Put pressure on them to provide the oversight necessary on not only the FCC but on the so called Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstien. Regulations never were law. If you are a Senator or Representative, a Committee Chair, or the leader of a caucus, I implore you to take action to stop the Obama administration from bypassing Congress. Congress must stop this end-run around them. If it succeeds Congress will have become irrelevant.

The Congress should announce that the FCC is no longer funded and close the office.
I’ve said it before, Congress either has to stand up to him or impeach him.
