We have 10% of the USA population and something like 34% of all the welfare.
We in CA are a dead state financially. We are almost zombies financially at this point.
Then we have almost 700 billion in lottery sized retirement funds promised to all kinds of government union employees.
... not counting Medicaid costs, emergency room costs, prison costs, additional law enforcement costs, housing subsidies, lost jobs taken from (and taxes not paid by) citizens, etc.
Since they do not verify SS# with the Federal Govt, it is likely that many illegals use false number when enrolling in school. Since millions of illegal workers are using false SS# why wouldn’t their kids be using them also?
It is not just illegals, but also anchor babies. Here in CA, we have a budget deficit of $16-18 billion per year and are guaranteed to crash, but as a ca guy says; illegals cost us north of $10 billion/yr, without which, we’d be back in the black in just a couple years.
When they come to your class and they don’t know what soap, a comb or a pencil is, and they can’t speak English, you don’t have to ask.

The author treats the student as some sort of legal entity that appears when school starts, and disappears into the ether when the last bell rings only to magically reappear at the metal detectors the next morning.

A former coworker from El Paso told me that he has complained to the school board about the school bus that goes to the Mexican border every school day and picks up mexican children and takes them to school. The bus then takes them back to the border after school is over. Americans pick up the tab for these illegals- transportation, food, education and any medical incurred during school hours.
He said he was called a racist by the board.
As long as politicians whore after teachers union votes and public schools whore after federal funds based soley on headcount, there’s no incentive for change. Reform won’t come unless the money dries up...which won’t happen as long as the feds keep printing more.
