Pancreatic cancer is a tough, tough one to beat. I lost my grandmother to it some years back.
Best thoughts and prayers for Ms. Franklin.

"Pancreatic cancer is a tough, tough one to beat." That is what claimed Patrick Swayze, is it not?
Yes, I think it has a pretty high mortality rate.

Went to see Mrs Franklin in concert with a biologist buddy who kept calling her Urethra Franklin!
What a dumbass! But I still laugh about it to this day.
Prayers for Aretha!

Prayers for her. I love her work. I hope she is resting comfortably.
There are some pretty good treatments out there these days. My friend’s mom was diagnosed and lived over two more years without a lot of nasty side effects from her treatment. It’s still considered incurable but it’s not necessarily as bad as it used to be. I hope that is so in Aretha’s case.

It’s very tough to beat. Mortality rate is very high. Other pancreatic disorders are bad too. Necrotic pancreatitis nearly took me 4 years ago.

This woman is a fricking LEGEND, the original American Idol.
I remember growing up in the 70s, my parents would play her LPs on the old stereo floor system during the summer nights.

Oh geez. This is really bad.
Prayers for her. I hope she’s right with God.

My prayers go out to her and her family. I lost my father to it less than a year ago. He died six months after he was diagnosed. The surgery was brutal on him. He went from 180 lbs to 92 lbs when he died.
I hope the surgery went better for her.
