Some people organized an attempted run on the Banks to occur on 12/7/2010 starting in Europe. Appears to have failed for now. Emergency Preparedness What to do in the first 24 hours of Catastrophe (economic if we dont take drastic action) Many of these actions are unnecessary if you have prepared ahead of time. 1. Hour 1: Run, dont walk, to the store and buy everything of value, consumables first, then lastly durable goods. If by the time you arrive the crowds are huge or starting to become violent consider the risk/benefit try to find a smaller store or smaller city. Run on water may be associated with run on paper kitchen ware as no water to wash dishes. In an emergency typically water can be emptied within an hour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG-IOxUOYHI Think toilet paper, food, and Perishables. 2. Hour 2: Liquidate all of your assets so that you can return to the first step. Oddly some people are even now trying to start a run on the Banks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIuigEscnMQ
Steps to prepare so you arent concerned with the preceding steps.
1. Secure a credit line equal to all of your cash so that when you need to convert your cash to real assets you will not need to be concerned with visiting the bank and waiting in line for them to tell you that you will be limited to a withdrawal of only a percentage of your account balance. 2. Have a store of food and water so you have plenty of time to reflect on your next actions without having to rely on the government or your Church friends to simply live the next day. In fact, store enough so you can help others who failed to prepare. 3. You tell me.

Why do I always think of this guy whenever I hear about shenanigans involving banks . . .
Luckily with my location water is the least of my concerns. I have plenty of it, ways to collect it, and various ways to treat it for years. It’s everything else that I’m still trying to prepare even though I been unemployed/partial employed for the last year.
Plywood and 2x4s, nails and screws. To secure your home when the zombies try to take the supplies you wisely stored in anticipation of an economic disaster. Me, I already have the lumber and screws ready to secure my home. Just need to run out and get milk and eggs.
I may not be zombie-proof, but I’m zombie-aware and zombie-prepared!

I saw those zombies. It was a little over over 2 years ago and it was horrible. They were walking around with glazed eyes repeating the same moaning, hell inspired chant; “Hope and Change”.
It brings back nightmares just to remember.
Wait till we see what happens when we starve the beast taking their welfare checks, little revolt, no?
When Greece began to collapse you way rioters in the streets. But at the end of the day, after the morons burn a few cars and wrestle with a few cops, they're “all Greek.” They're all on the same side.
In the US we have a political party that's spend decades telling certain minority groups that despite lack of education, training, motivation, and effort, their poor life situation was not their fault. “It's that other guy” out there who doesn’t want to pay high taxes who is victimizing you”...
Now after a guy who's been told he's a victim all his life sees “grandma” walking down the street carrying a purse, how long do you think it's going to take him to rationalize bashing her over the head and taking her purse?

Shop smart and youll save a ton of money, now and in the long run.
Club stores are a great place to stock up on basics like salt, sugar, rice, etc. at very good prices. If your budget is really tight, visit various local grocery stores every chance you get and look for stuff on sale & good deals on things you will and do use; buy one get one free, specials, and other unusually discounted items. Buy as much as you can afford and dig back on the rack to get the farthest out Best if used by date. A few extras here and there add up.
Use and rotate your stock.
We have a mini grocery store in our basement and every bit of it was purchased on sale.
Some consider it a fools errand to stock up, but I feel anyone that doesnt have at least 3 months of food and supplies to be foolish.
If everything hits the fan, I’m not going to worry about having enough trash bags on hand.
Trash bags become a very handy item to have in SHTF situations.
From makeshift rain coats, water collection, sealing windows, indoor toilets, Etc, Etc,
Many uses for trash bags, they never go bad, and you can never have too many of them.
Now, if we can only figure out how to shove our current administration into one
1. Use the Hurricane Emergency Checklist, as a base.
2. Use the “Neal Boortz spending method”: spend 10’s and 20’s, squirrel the 1’s, 5’s, and coin change tendered. If you need a head start, and can do it, break out a pre-determined amount, and add to it as you go.
3. Since dollar coins are still legal tender, and not everybody has converted FROM regular film canisters, “yet”, build a supply of dollar coins (either the new ones or the old ones) to get you through a week - 21 coins per 35mm film canister, and squirrel them.
4. If you have a firearm, you already are doing it. If you do NOT, and are not worried about being ‘tactical’, or don’t know that term, obtain a good ol’ 20-gauge cowboy-sized stagecoach-design shotgun. (No, I do NOT mean that long goose gun you saw on cable tv!) It won’t buck back hard, you can find ammunition easily for it, and it is so simple to operate. Get a “few” boxes, “just to be sure”, and keep it ready for use. (If necessary, watch YouTube videos by ‘millerusaf’, and get a good dose of practical knowledge.)
5. Keep gas in the car, following winter-time rules.
6. Don’t panic. Think this out as you were to begin a new way of life, with little money, and little stuff on hand, starting at a pre-determined point in time. What would you REALLY need to get now, before that date arrives?
Folks, I’ve been down to “collecting soda cans for rent money” before. I’m still here, so you can make it, too. I survived Hurricane Katrina, so that checklist is like a good ol’ military manual, now. I’ve been watching this bank thing for years now, and there are over 4000 banks that have gone under in this country. (Who cares by how, they did!) It’s not over yet, and it’s not going to be pretty. Stock your shelves, and your armory. Keep a good radio and batteries for a couple of months’ continual playing time. Get your remembered favortie book series, and a good pen and journal. In no-fun situations, putting words on paper, sometimes makes a body feel better. I kept my emergency operation-recovery journal, after my colostomy shut down. It worked for me.
Hang tough, think hard, live free, and love live the Republic!
Buy ammunition, not gold! Then move into your friend’s house who has been buying gold for the last 10 years.
