Chico City Council, $9 Million in Debt and Banning Woodstoves
ChicoER Gate ^ | 12/8/10 | Chuck Wolk

Hosted by imgur.comLast night was just the second time in my 22 years living in Chico that I suffered through an evening of listening to what the members of the Chico City Council had to say. If it weren't for Mark Sorensen's actually winning and being sworn in, I would not have been there last night. Now that it is over, I am glad I did go, not only because I was able to see a conservative get sworn in, but also because I was actually able to watch the way Socialists determine what is important for the citizens of Chico.

I was going to go over the many items discussed at last night's meeting, but instead I decided to inform you that Chico is broke.  Yup you heard me correctly.  Fact is, not only is the city broke, but also it is $9 million in debt. I listened for two hours as they went over the city's finances, and it became very evident that while the media has been reporting that Chico has a balanced budget over $41,000 in the black, the truth is they lied. If my wife and I balanced our checkbook the way the Chico City Council balances theirs, we would be in jail for grand larceny. I don't care how they explain it to the public; the city is $9 million in debt. If you are curious though, Scott Gruendl and Jim Walker both think the developers and the citizens are at fault for the way the council and their liberal cohorts have spent $9 million the city didn't have.

I can see liberal city council members, Mayors, governors, representatives, Senators and even a certain President all doing stupid things like this all across America as they double down in their stubborn pursuit to destroy as much of America as they can before they are all tossed out in 2012.

I think they see the writing on the wall and know very well that they are finished. Like a cornered wild rabid animal, they are going to do as much damage as they can before they are forced forced to leave. Then they will be kicking and screaming as they are drug away from their precious seats.

It may have been, but it was probably earlier this morning. From my understanding, the policy is that as long as there has been a fair amount of time between postings, then it is allowed for those who missed it. Most people do not look back too far to see what they missed through the day.

When they tell us we can’t burn wood one hell of a lot besides wood is liable to ignite.

As well-traveled as I am, I’m afraid I don’t know where “Chico City” is...it would be nice to include a dateline (CITY-STATE) at the beginning of local stories so we would all be advised where exactly this is taking place.

Chico is in north central California - about an hour and a half drive north of Sacramento.

Yup. We have a lovely and historic church there.

My Mother in Law grew up near there. Her Dad was the first to grew walnuts in the area. I really love heading out there when we get the chance.

The socialists don’t want you to drill oil, mine coal or burn wood. When you need to stay warm this winter, just stand next to a Liberal’s house and flick a match on it. That will warm you inside *and* out.
