Beck urged Palin to protect herself and invest in more security because an “attempt on you could bring the Republic down.”

Jeebus H., have we become that much of a gawd-damned Banana Republic that if some crazy wacko does something like that, then it could "take down the Republic"???
If so, this country doesn't deserve to survive.. Wackos have made attempts on a lot of our "leaders" (e.g. JFK, RFK, MLK the Pope, Ronaldus Magnus, etc) and we, as a nation, have worked our way thru it.
Have we really changed that much that?????

Judging by the posts in this thread, yes. Ironic that many conservatives would like to replace one cult of personality with another.

That’s a good question. I wonder if we could get through it without violence. Sarah Palin is beloved by conservatives. Her entry into the national political arena gave us hope that we will see another Ronald Reagan in our time. (This time in a skirt?)

Speaking for myself only, in the past two years, the far left has driven me to the edge numerous times. I’ve been ready to head to D.C. to remove them from office time and again. As a Texan, I have far less patience for their horsesh*t than most. I feel obligated to my children to preserve our legacy of individual freedoms. And if I have to do that by force, well, so be it.

Since the attempted assassination of President Reagan, the far left has advanced into our territory. They continue to take ground, continue to insert the government into our business in the name of social justice. I believe we have gotten to the point that an attempt on Sarah Palin would provoke a response.

Sometimes one must draw a line and stand firm. The Founders knew it. They drew a line. Where is our line?

How much longer do you think this can go on?

A person can strike a match in an empty room or a powder magazine with two very different results.

World War I was started by an assassination. That war ended more than one government and nation.
